Deli Serdang Speeds Up Preparation for Community, Based Infrastructure Program

PREPARING FOR THE IBM PROGRAM: The Deli Serdang Regency Government has urged all ranks to accelerate preparations for the Community-Based Infrastructure (IBM) program.

DELI SERDANG | INDATANEWS.COM ~ The Deli Serdang Regency Government is accelerating preparations to participate in the community-based infrastructure program (IBM), initiated by the Directorate General of Cipta Karya under Indonesia's Ministry of Public Works and Housing (PUPR).

The commitment was reaffirmed by Zainal Abidin Hutagalung, Assistant for Government Affairs and Social Welfare, during a coordination meeting held at the Regent's Office in North Sumatra on Thursday (March 26, 2026).

"All stakeholders must act swiftly and proactively to meet the requirements. Administrative and technical preparations must be completed immediately so that we can fully capitalize on opportunities from central government programs," he said.

Focus on Waste Management, Sanitation, and Regional Infrastructure

The meeting highlighted several key programs, including the development of waste processing facilities based on the Reduce, Reuse, Recycle (TPS3R) concept, community-based water supply and sanitation (Sanimas), and regional socio-economic infrastructure development (PISEW).

Several areas have already demonstrated readiness. The Bangun Purba subdistrict, for instance, has prepared land and initiated preliminary support measures.

Village administrations were urged to promptly establish Community Self-Help Groups (KSM) and intensify public outreach efforts. These steps are expected to accelerate implementation and ensure that local communities directly benefit from the programs.

"Our goal is to ensure these programs are implemented effectively and deliver tangible impacts. Therefore, thorough preparation from the outset is essential," Zainal Abidin emphasized.
