MEDAN | INDATANEWS.COM - North Sumatra Governor Bobby Nasution has expressed his full support for Keysa Dwi Tantri, a student of SMA Negeri 1 Sei Suka in Batubara Regency, who will represent North Sumatra at the Miss Youth Indonesia competition in Surabaya in November 2026.

Bobby expressed his support when he received Keysa on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, in his office at the North Sumatra Governor's Office on Jalan Diponegoro in Medan. The eleventh-grade student of SMA Negeri 1 Sei Suka will represent the name of North Sumatra on the national stage.

Bobby described Keysa's participation as an achievement that brings pride to North Sumatra. He expressed hope that the opportunity would not only help Keysa further develop her abilities but also convey a positive message to the younger generation in the region.

"It is a source of pride for North Sumatra that Keysa has reached this national competition. This is certainly an encouraging achievement," Governor Bobby said.

According to Bobby, young people who achieve success in various fields can have a positive impact on their surroundings. He hopes Keysa can use this opportunity to become a role model while encouraging other young people to continue developing their abilities and striving for achievement.

Young Generation Encouraged to Become Role Models

Bobby hopes that more young people from North Sumatra will attract attention through their achievements in education and other fields. In his view, the achievements of young people can contribute to producing more individuals who can serve as positive role models for the next generation.

"The younger generation needs many people who achieve success in education and other fields. They can become role models so that young people do not get involved in negative activities," Bobby said.

Bobby delivered the message against the backdrop of the important role young people play in building a positive social environment. In his view, young people should not focus solely on personal achievements but should also benefit their surroundings through ideas and activities that respond to the needs of society.

Bobby also advised Keysa to continuously broaden her horizons as she develops personally. He emphasized the importance of acquiring knowledge from various fields, particularly for young people who may take on leadership responsibilities in the future.

According to Bobby, learning about different areas of knowledge helps people understand problems more comprehensively. Such knowledge is also an important foundation when facing challenges and making decisions.

"Anyone who wants to take on a leadership position must learn about many areas, starting with the economy, society, security and other fields," Bobby said.

Leadership and Adaptability in a Changing Era

In addition to emphasizing the importance of broad knowledge, Bobby reminded Keysa of the need to adapt to change. He explained that changing times require everyone to continue learning and adapting to developments that are progressing rapidly.

According to Bobby, this need also applies to leaders, including heads of regional administrations. Government organizations must be able to move dynamically so they can respond to changes and the needs of the community.

The message was part of the guidance Bobby gave Keysa ahead of her participation in the national competition. He hopes Miss Youth Indonesia will become a learning process for Keysa while providing greater opportunities for her to develop her communication skills, leadership qualities, creativity and social engagement.

Keysa's participation is also not solely focused on the competition itself. During the event, she will present the "Satu Nyawa, Sejuta Jiwa" program, which highlights the importance of children's social interaction amid the increasing use of digital devices.

The program is aimed at children from kindergarten through elementary and junior high school levels. Keysa developed the topic based on her observation that children's interactions are increasingly shaped by digital devices.

She sees the risk that excessive use of smartphones and other digital devices without sufficient direct social interaction could limit children's opportunities to build communication skills and social relationships with the people around them.

"Nowadays, many children prefer playing with gadgets rather than interacting with others," Keysa said.

Keysa Brings "Satu Nyawa, Sejuta Jiwa" Program

Through "Satu Nyawa, Sejuta Jiwa," Keysa aims to encourage children to rebuild stronger direct social connections. The idea is part of the social message she will convey at the Miss Youth Indonesia competition in Surabaya.

The program also demonstrates that participation in a youth competition is not solely about the ability to appear on stage. Keysa is addressing an issue closely connected to children's everyday lives and seeking to develop it into an idea that can strengthen public awareness of the social development of the younger generation.

For Keysa, the support from the North Sumatra Provincial Government provides additional motivation as she prepares for the competition. She will represent North Sumatra while presenting an idea that she believes deserves greater attention from society.

The Miss Youth Indonesia competition in Surabaya in November 2026 will provide Keysa with an opportunity to demonstrate her abilities while conveying a positive message from North Sumatra. Governor Bobby's support is expected to further strengthen her efforts in preparing for the competition.

The meeting was also attended by North Sumatra Education Office Head Alexander Sinulingga, North Sumatra Communication and Informatics Office Head Erwin Hotmansah Harahap, Head of the Public Welfare Bureau Ade Sofianita, and Head of the North Sumatra Culture, Tourism and Creative Economy Office Terang Dewi Susantri Ujung.

The support is part of the North Sumatra Provincial Government's attention to the development opportunities available to the younger generation. Through the achievements and social ideas of young people, the government hopes that more individuals will emerge who can inspire others and contribute to creating a more positive environment for the next generation.
