SHEHACKS 2026 PROGRAM: Women from Indonesia’s MSME sector participate in Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison’s SheHacks 2026 initiative, which strengthens digital skills and AI adoption for business development.

JAKARTA | INDATANEWS.COM Telecommunications and digital services provider Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison is reinforcing its commitment to bridging the digital divide for women-led micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs/UMKM) in Indonesia through its flagship empowerment initiative, SheHacks. The 2026 edition places a stronger emphasis on the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) to better prepare women entrepreneurs for the accelerating pace of digital transformation.

As Indonesia continues to navigate rapid digitalization, Indosat highlights the urgency of ensuring equal access to digital literacy, technical support, and modern infrastructure. Without such foundations, the economic potential of women in the MSME sector risks remaining underutilized. SheHacks 2026 therefore adopts a more practical, context-driven, and technology-oriented learning approach.

AI as a Catalyst for Women-Led MSME Growth

The rapid evolution of digital technology has already expanded opportunities for market access, customer engagement, and operational efficiency. With AI entering the mainstream, a new phase of transformation is emerging—one in which advanced tools are becoming increasingly accessible even to small businesses.

Artificial intelligence now enables entrepreneurs to analyze data, refine marketing strategies, and automate business processes more effectively. For women entrepreneurs, this opens new avenues for innovation, particularly in content creation, customer interaction, and data-driven decision-making, ultimately strengthening their competitiveness in a dynamic marketplace.

According to Indonesia's Ministry of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection (KemenPPPA), approximately 64.5 percent of MSMEs in the country are owned or led by women, underscoring their vital role in national economic development and the importance of digital inclusion.

SheHacks Expands Its Digital Ecosystem

For six consecutive years, SheHacks has remained one of Indonesia's most consistent programs dedicated to empowering women through digital capacity building. To date, it has reached more than 61,000 participants through training, mentoring, and digital learning initiatives.

In 2026, the program significantly expands its focus on AI-powered applications in business operations, ranging from marketing and financial management to customer service and content production. The initiative aims to deliver a flexible learning system tailored to the busy schedules of women entrepreneurs.

New Learning Models for Digital Transformation

The program continues to evolve in response to the changing needs of women in the digital economy, as emphasized by Ovidia Nomia. SheHacks 2026 is designed to provide more adaptive and scalable learning experiences that align with real-world business challenges.

The initiative targets participation from 27,000 MSME entrepreneurs over a six-month period. Learning formats include self-paced modules, webinars, workshops, mentoring sessions, and business showcase opportunities.

In addition, in-person workshops will be held across ten Indonesian cities, including Bandung, Medan, Bogor, and Pekanbaru. These sessions will feature live selling demonstrations and hands-on training in applying AI tools to improve daily business operations.

Through SheHacks 2026, Indosat aims to build a more inclusive digital ecosystem where technology, community, and economic opportunity intersect. By integrating AI into its training framework, the program seeks to empower women entrepreneurs to evolve their business models and enhance long-term competitiveness.

The initiative is positioned not only as an educational platform but also as a strategic effort to strengthen Indonesia's women-driven digital economy.
