TAEKWONDO ATHLETES SENT OFF: Aceh Regional Secretary M. Nasir officially sends off 43 athletes from Taekwondo Setda Aceh who will compete in the National Taekwondo Championship 2026 in North Sumatra. The contingent is expected to achieve strong results while proudly representing Aceh on the national stage.

BANDA ACEH | INDATANEWS.COM - Aceh Regional Secretary M. Nasir officially sent off the Taekwondo Setda Aceh (TSA) contingent that will compete in the National Taekwondo Championship 2026 in North Sumatra. The send-off ceremony was held on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at the main lobby of the Aceh Regional Secretariat.

The event reflected the Aceh Government's commitment to supporting sports development, particularly taekwondo, which has shown significant progress in recent years across various levels of competition. On the occasion, M. Nasir encouraged the athletes to maximize their potential and deliver their best performances at the national championship.

The National Taekwondo Championship 2026 is scheduled to take place from June 25 to 28, 2026, in North Sumatra. Taekwondo Setda Aceh is sending a total of 43 athletes who will compete across various age groups and competition categories.

Athletes Must Maintain Commitment and Discipline

In his remarks, M. Nasir emphasized that becoming a successful athlete requires strong commitment, discipline, and the ability to balance multiple responsibilities. According to him, sports not only teach athletes how to win but also help build character and mental resilience.

He stated that athletes must remain consistent in training, uphold honesty as a fundamental value, and effectively manage their time between sports activities and education. These qualities, he said, are essential for achieving success both in competition and in everyday life.

Nasir also reminded the athletes to approach every stage of the competition with full responsibility and focus. He stressed that success in sports is determined not only by technical skills but also by long-term discipline and unwavering dedication.

Athletes who consistently maintain their training spirit and discipline, he added, have greater opportunities to improve and achieve outstanding results. Therefore, he encouraged the entire contingent to view the championship as both a learning experience and an opportunity to demonstrate the results of their hard work and preparation.

In addition to pursuing sporting achievements, the Regional Secretary urged the athletes to uphold fairness and sportsmanship throughout the tournament. These values, he noted, reflect the quality of an athlete and are fundamental to character development in sports.

Upholding Aceh's Reputation on the National Stage

On the same occasion, Nasir reminded athletes, coaches, and officials to preserve Aceh's good reputation during the championship. Every member of the contingent, he said, represents the province at the national level and carries the responsibility of maintaining its image.

For that reason, he called on all participants to demonstrate respect toward fellow athletes and event organizers while maintaining exemplary conduct throughout the competition.

According to Nasir, the reputation of a region is not determined solely by athletic achievements but also by the attitude and behavior displayed by its representatives when interacting with participants from other provinces.

"Protect Aceh's good name and demonstrate our identity as Acehnese through your conduct. Compete honestly and fairly. We hope you can win titles and bring home as many medals as possible," he said.

His message was received attentively by the athletes, who displayed strong optimism and determination ahead of their departure to North Sumatra.

The Aceh Government hopes the championship will provide an opportunity for athletes to measure their abilities while gaining valuable experience at the national level. Such experience is considered an important part of long-term athlete development.

Targeting Outstanding Results at the National Championship

The Taekwondo Setda Aceh contingent consists of 43 athletes who will compete in various age divisions. Their participation across multiple categories highlights the club's commitment to sustainable athlete development and grassroots training programs.

The athletes will compete in the Super Kids (5–6 years old), Pre-Cadet A (7–8 years old), Pre-Cadet B (9–10 years old), and Pre-Cadet C (11–12 years old) categories.

In addition, the contingent will field competitors in the Cadet (13–14 years old), Junior (15–17 years old), and Senior (17–28 years old) divisions. The wide range of categories provides TSA with greater opportunities to achieve success in multiple events.

The participation of athletes from youth to senior levels also reflects the effectiveness of a structured and sustainable development system. Strong grassroots programs are expected to produce more accomplished athletes in the future.

Nasir expressed confidence that all members of the contingent possess the potential to compete successfully at the national level and deliver the best possible results for Aceh. Thorough preparation and a strong fighting spirit, he said, are key factors in facing a highly competitive championship.

The Aceh Government has placed high hopes on the TSA contingent and expects them to achieve remarkable results while proudly representing the province on the national stage. This support is intended to provide additional motivation for the athletes to perform at their highest level in every match.

With a strong sense of unity, discipline, and sportsmanship, the Taekwondo Setda Aceh contingent remains optimistic ahead of the National Taekwondo Championship 2026. Winning medals and achieving sporting excellence remain the primary goals as the athletes strive to bring pride to Aceh at the national level. (IDNC)
