DELI SERDANG | INDATANEWS.COM - The Regent of Deli Serdang, dr. H. Asri Ludin Tambunan, has officially sent off the delegation from the Deli Serdang Regional Institute for the Development and Promotion of Catholic Pesparani (LP3KD) to take part in the Third North Sumatra Provincial Catholic Church Music Festival (Pesparani) 2026. The send-off ceremony took place at the Deli Serdang Regent's Office on Friday, 23 October 2026.

A total of 48 participants will represent Deli Serdang at the event, which is being held in Pematangsiantar on 23 and 24 October 2026. The Deli Serdang Regency Government is supporting the delegation's participation as part of its efforts to promote religious activities and choral music, while strengthening community spirit and tolerance across society.

During the send-off ceremony, Asri Ludin Tambunan praised the participants, trainers, mentors and LP3KD officials for their preparations for the provincial-level competition. He expressed hope that their hard work would help the participants demonstrate their abilities to the fullest and achieve a positive result for Deli Serdang.

Participants Urged to Give Their Best

Asri Ludin Tambunan said the delegation from Deli Serdang now had an opportunity to demonstrate the results of its preparation and training. He also reminded the participants that their experience in regency-level competitions could provide an important foundation for taking part in provincial events.

"Yesterday, we held our first regency-level event. Hopefully, we can achieve an optimal result at provincial level," he said.

According to him, participating in Pesparani was about more than winning competitions. The event also gave participants an opportunity to develop their abilities, build confidence and gain new experiences by meeting delegations from other regions.

He urged all participants to make the most of the opportunity. Thorough preparation, discipline and a willingness to continue learning were essential to performing well in their respective competition categories.

Asri Ludin also acknowledged the dedication of the trainers, mentors and LP3KD officials, who had invested considerable time and effort in preparing the participants. The support of everyone involved, he said, would help ensure that the delegation remained well prepared throughout the programme in Pematangsiantar.

Health, Unity and Fair Play Remain Priorities

Alongside the goal of achieving the best possible results, Asri Ludin Tambunan urged all 48 participants to look after their health throughout the event. Maintaining good physical condition was essential to following the competition schedule and demonstrating their abilities to the fullest.

He also emphasised the importance of unity within the delegation. In a competition encompassing different aspects of the arts and religious life, cooperation, discipline and mutual support were crucial to overcoming challenges together.

Participants were also encouraged to demonstrate fair play and respect delegations from other regencies and cities. In this way, Pesparani could serve as a meeting place that strengthened relationships between participants while promoting fair and respectful competition.

Asri Ludin reminded the delegation that every participant would represent Deli Serdang throughout the event. He therefore urged all members to conduct themselves appropriately and demonstrate a spirit of fellowship and mutual respect in their interactions with others.

"I entrust you with upholding the good name of Deli Serdang. I hope that all the competitions you take part in will run smoothly," he concluded.

Pesparani Promotes Fellowship and Tolerance

The Catholic Pesparani Festival provides worshippers with an opportunity to express their faith through music and church choral performances. In addition to nurturing musical talent, the event can strengthen community spirit and encourage positive interaction within a diverse society.

For Deli Serdang Regency, participation in the Third North Sumatra Provincial Pesparani Festival 2026 offers an opportunity to showcase the participants' abilities while underlining the regional administration's commitment to religious and cultural activities.

Through the delegation's participation, the regency government hopes that participants will not only strive for success in the competition but also gain valuable experiences that contribute to their personal development and benefit their communities. Discipline, cooperation, respect for differences and fellowship are values that should continue to grow long after the competitions have ended.

Support from the regional administration, LP3KD officials, trainers, mentors and the wider community is an important contribution towards creating a supportive environment for young people's development. With thorough preparation and a strong sense of unity, the Deli Serdang delegation is expected to perform to the best of its abilities in every competition while upholding the good name of the region.

The participation of the 48 delegates also provides an opportunity to reinforce the message that religious activities can contribute to harmonious community relations. Through church choral music, participants can demonstrate that achievement, fellowship and tolerance can go hand in hand in a diverse society. (IDNC)
