LABUHANBATU | INDATANEWS.COM - The Regional Working Meeting (RAKERWIL) of the Gerakan Pemuda Al-Washliyah (GPA) in North Sumatra was officially opened on Monday, August 24, 2026, in Labuhanbatu Regency. The event served as a moment of organizational consolidation while also strengthening the direction of GPA North Sumatra in supporting development and safeguarding the interests of the community.
The opening of the RAKERWIL was attended by the Regent of Labuhanbatu, represented by his Assistant II, Drs. Ikramsyah Putra Nasution; the Chairman of PW Al-Washliyah North Sumatra, Dr. Hayatsyah; Alim Nur Nasution; and Dedi Iskandar, S.E. Also present were the Chairman of PD Al-Washliyah Labuhanbatu, Drs. H. Abdul Hamid Zahid Hasibuan; the Labuhanbatu Police Chief, represented by the Head of the Intelligence Division, AKP Organ Sembiring, S.H.; the Head of the Labuhanbatu District Prosecutor's Office, represented by the Head of the Corruption and Special Crimes Section, Sabri Fitriansyah Marbun, S.H.; the Commander of Kodim 0209, represented by the Commander of Koramil 08; GPA leaders from various regions across North Sumatra; and other invited guests.The presence of representatives from the regional government, law enforcement agencies, the Indonesian Military (TNI), Al-Washliyah, and GPA branches from across North Sumatra demonstrated that the RAKERWIL was not merely an internal organizational gathering. The forum also provided a space for consolidation and communication between young people, the government, and various institutions in responding to development issues and community interests.
In his address, Gerakan Pemuda Al-Washliyah Chairman Aminullah Siagian called on the GPA, as a youth organization, to take a clear, constructive, and responsible stance in national life.
Aminullah stressed that it was not enough for the GPA to focus solely on implementing its internal organizational programs. In his view, the organization must accelerate cross-sector collaboration and strengthen its institutional relationships with the government and various state institutions."The GPA must be present with ideas, concrete action, and a constructive attitude. We support the programs of President Prabowo Subianto while ensuring that the interests of the people continue to play an important role in every development process," Aminullah said emphatically.
He also called on GPA cadres to support the work of the police, the TNI, and the prosecutors' office in carrying out their state responsibilities. Such support, however, must take place within the framework of a healthy and critical partnership, while remaining guided by legal provisions and the interests of the public."The police, TNI, and prosecutors' office are important components in maintaining state stability and upholding the law. The GPA must be a constructive partner that provides support while also exercising objective social oversight," he said.
According to Aminullah, such a relationship is essential to ensure that a youth organization does not lose its critical function when establishing communication with the government or state institutions. The GPA can provide support while continuing to exercise objective social oversight.
The RAKERWIL of GPA North Sumatra also discussed the acceleration of internal organizational programs, particularly in the areas of economics, the creative economy, and social oversight. Aminullah described strengthening the economic sector as an important foundation for the organizational and economic independence of both the organization and its cadres.
He urged GPA North Sumatra not to stop at developing ideas, but to create productive spaces that provide direct benefits to cadres and the wider community. In his view, developing businesses and the creative economy could help strengthen the skills of young people while creating new opportunities to improve their welfare.This approach also positions cadres as an important component in developing the economic potential of the regions. The GPA is expected to channel young people's creativity into productive activities with economic value and, in turn, make a meaningful contribution to society.
Alongside economic empowerment, Aminullah emphasized the importance of consistent and measured social oversight. GPA North Sumatra must be capable of responding to various issues affecting the community, ranging from social and economic concerns to legal matters and development challenges."Social oversight does not mean looking for the government's mistakes. It means ensuring that power and development are exercised and implemented in the interests of the people, in accordance with the law, transparently, and responsibly," Aminullah explained.
The statement underscored the GPA's position as a youth organization seeking to carry out its oversight function without neglecting communication and partnership. The GPA is expected to deliver objective criticism while also offering solutions to current problems.
In connection with regional development, GPA North Sumatra also expressed its support for the government in maintaining security and public order. The organization considers a safe and stable environment an important factor in supporting community activities and development.
In addition to public security, GPA North Sumatra is also focusing on the management of natural resources. Aminullah believes that the wealth of natural resources must provide tangible benefits to communities and regions while being managed responsibly.In his view, natural resource management must adhere to the principles of sustainability, legal certainty, and social justice. On this basis, the utilization of natural resources should not serve purely economic interests, but must also take environmental protection and public welfare into account.
The RAKERWIL of GPA North Sumatra was subsequently directed toward producing concrete, measurable work programs that respond to the challenges of the times. Organizational consolidation is intended not only to strengthen the internal structure but also to encourage GPA North Sumatra to make a tangible contribution to social, economic, governmental, and national life.Aminullah emphasized that GPA North Sumatra needs qualitative organizational development to address increasingly complex challenges. Internal strengthening, economic independence, social oversight, and a mature approach to relations with the government are among the key elements of this direction.
"GPA North Sumatra must move to a higher level. We want an organization that is internally strong, economically productive, consistent in social oversight, and mature in its dealings with the government. Firm in principle, measured in conduct, and concrete in serving society," Aminullah Siagian said in closing.Through the RAKERWIL in Labuhanbatu, GPA North Sumatra seeks to bring its entire leadership structure and cadres across North Sumatra onto a common course. The forum provides an opportunity to formulate programs while strengthening the organization's commitment so that GPA's presence in community life becomes increasingly tangible.
With stronger consolidation and measurable work programs, GPA North Sumatra aims to play a more active role in supporting regional development. The youth organization is placing partnership, constructive criticism, economic empowerment, and social engagement at the center of its future organizational agenda.
