LABUHANBATU SELATAN | INDATANEWS.COM – The Torgamba Police Sector Criminal Investigation Unit (Unit Reskrim Polsek Torgamba), in coordination with the security team of PT Asam Jawa, successfully thwarted an attempted theft of fresh palm fruit bunches (Tandan Buah Segar/TBS). A 34-year-old man identified by the initials Dian Syahputra was arrested on Friday evening in a plantation area in Pangarungan Village, Torgamba District, Labuhanbatu Selatan Regency.
The suspect was apprehended around 6:00 p.m. WIB in Block A-33 of the plantation while allegedly harvesting palm fruit illegally using a machete. He was also seen loading the stolen produce onto a Honda Supra 125 motorcycle without a license plate.Security Patrol Raises Alarm

Coordinated Police Response

The suspect was caught in the middle of the harvesting process and arrested without significant resistance while attempting to transport the stolen palm fruit.
Police confiscated five bundles of fresh palm fruit bunches and a machete believed to have been used in the crime. The suspect was taken to Polsek Torgamba for further questioning and legal processing.

PT Asam Jawa estimated the material loss at approximately IDR 365,200 and has urged law enforcement to process the case in accordance with applicable law.
Polsek Torgamba Police, Chief AKP Sunipan Gurusinga, reaffirmed the police's commitment to cracking down on palm oil theft, locally known as "Ninja Sawit." He emphasized increased patrols and stronger collaboration with plantation security units."Regardless of economic motives, theft remains a criminal act. We urge the public not to engage in illegal activities or trade stolen palm fruit," AKP Sunipan Gurusinga stated.
