JAMBI | INDATANEWS.COM - The Jambi Regional Police (Polda Jambi) has reaffirmed its commitment to consistently enforcing discipline and the professional code of ethics of the Indonesian National Police (Polri). In connection with the death of Brigadier EWS within the jurisdiction of the East Tanjung Jabung Police, strict sanctions have been imposed on five police officers.
The five officers are Brigadier UVS, Aiptu MA, Aipda EF, Bripka DHR and Bripda EBD. The Professional and Disciplinary Division of Polda Jambi (Bidpropam) stated that all five were found guilty of violating the Polri Professional Code of Ethics following proceedings before the Polri Professional Code of Ethics Commission (KKEP).The Head of Public Relations of Polda Jambi announced the decision at a press conference on Friday, August 7, 2026. He explained that Bidpropam Polda Jambi conducted the KKEP hearing over two days, Thursday and Friday, August 6 and 7, 2026, in the Bidpropam Polda Jambi meeting room.
The hearing concerned proceedings against the five officers in connection with the death of Brigadier EWS, which occurred within the jurisdiction of the East Tanjung Jabung Police. After completing the various stages of the proceedings, the KKEP determined that all five had violated the provisions of the Polri Professional Code of Ethics.In addition, the five officers violated Polri Regulation No. 7 of 2022 concerning the Polri Professional Code of Ethics. Based on the investigation and the findings of the hearing, the KKEP determined that all five had committed reprehensible acts.
For these violations, the KKEP imposed the administrative sanction of dishonorable dismissal from the police service, known as PTDH, against all five officers.The decision represents a firm step by Polda Jambi in enforcing the Professional Code of Ethics against police officers found to have violated regulations. The police institution also emphasized that every member must be held accountable for actions that violate professional standards and Polri's internal regulations.
Jambi Police Chief Inspector General of Police Krisno H. Siregar, through Polda Jambi Public Relations Head Police Commissioner Erlan Munaji, emphasized that the KKEP decision reflected the institution's commitment to upholding its integrity."Polda Jambi is committed to handling every alleged violation by police officers professionally, objectively and transparently, in accordance with applicable laws and regulations as well as Polri's internal provisions. There is no tolerance for any form of violation by police officers," the Polda Jambi Public Relations Head said.
The enforcement of the Professional Code of Ethics serves as an internal mechanism within Polri to ensure that police officers carry out their duties in accordance with applicable regulations. Therefore, Polda Jambi stated that action would be taken against any member proven to have violated the rules.
"Polda Jambi will take firm action against any member who commits a violation, whether through disciplinary proceedings, professional ethics proceedings or criminal proceedings. At the same time, we ask the entire community to respect the ongoing legal proceedings," he said.The statement also underlined that proceedings against Polri members for violations may be conducted through different mechanisms, depending on the nature of the offense. The institution will take action against police officers in accordance with applicable regulations, whether through disciplinary proceedings, professional ethics proceedings or criminal proceedings.
In the case involving the death of Brigadier EWS, Polda Jambi, through Bidpropam, conducted professional ethics proceedings against the five police officers involved in the case. The subsequent KKEP hearing resulted in the imposition of the PTDH sanction.
The Head of Public Relations of Polda Jambi further stated that the decision to dishonorably dismiss the five officers demonstrated Polda Jambi's determination to enforce applicable regulations regardless of an officer's status or position.
The sanction is also part of the institution's efforts to uphold the dignity of the police profession. Polda Jambi emphasized that police officers who violate the Professional Code of Ethics must face the corresponding consequences in accordance with applicable regulations."The Jambi Police Chief emphasizes that there is no place for members who tarnish the honor of the institution and violate the Professional Code of Ethics. With the decision, Polda Jambi has once again reaffirmed that violations committed by police officers will be dealt with in accordance with applicable regulations. Enforcement of the Professional Code of Ethics is an important component in ensuring that Polri members continue to uphold professionalism, integrity and the dignity of the institution.Polda Jambi also appealed to the public to respect all ongoing legal proceedings.
