MEDAN | INDATANEWS.COM – The Medan City Government has swiftly responded to a public controversy involving the construction of a wall blocking access along Jalan Pekong in the Polonia subdistrict. The issue, which went viral on social media, prompted immediate intervention from Mayor Rico Waas through the municipal administration, which then initiated a mediation process to reach an amicable solution in the public interest.
The mediation meeting was led by Medan Polonia Subdistrict Head Noor Alfi Pane at the district office. The session aimed to bring all involved parties together and address the matter through a structured and constructive dialogue.Attendees included representatives from Muspika (Subdistrict Coordination Forum), local administrative officials, legal representatives of PT ADP, and the lawyer of Toni Tenggara, who had previously shared a video highlighting the access issue. All parties presented their perspectives in an orderly and respectful manner.

During the discussion, the legal representative of Toni Tenggara acknowledged that an alternative access route to the area does exist. However, they requested that the newly constructed wall blocking access to a residential property be temporarily opened, arguing that the company is not currently utilizing the land in question.
City Prioritizes Peaceful ResolutionSubdistrict Head Noor Alfi Pane emphasized that the city administration's role is strictly as a mediator, ensuring public order and peace in line with the mayor's directives.
