Deli Serdang Strengthens CSR Planning for 2026 and 2027

DELI SERDANG | INDATANEWS.COM - The Deli Serdang Regency Government is currently finalizing data and projections for corporate assistance under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program for 2026 and 2027. The regional government is committed to ensuring that CSR funding is better coordinated and more strategically allocated to strengthen priority development programs and improve the welfare of the community.

The Deli Serdang Government discussed projections for corporate assistance for 2026 and 2027 during a meeting held on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, at the Deli Serdang Bappedalitbang Hall. The meeting focused on updating data and ensuring that every form of contribution from the business sector has a clear direction and corresponds to the region's development needs.

Deli Serdang Assistant for Economic and Development Affairs Hendra Wijaya emphasized that the regional government must align corporate CSR support with priority programs as well as the vision and policy objectives of the regency government. He urged Regional Apparatus Organizations (OPD) and subdistrict administrations to refrain from independently determining the use of CSR funds, particularly when the assistance involves substantial contributions.

"We must not pressure companies to support activities that are not priorities. There is still much that needs to be done, and it is impossible for everything to be financed through the Regional Budget (APBD). Therefore, CSR funding sources must be utilized and directed toward supporting the regional government's programs," he stressed.

CSR Use Must Be Coordinated

Hendra explained that every plan involving the use of CSR funds must be coordinated with the regency-level coordination team established for this purpose. This step is important to ensure that business-sector assistance genuinely benefits the community while remaining aligned with the development direction established by the regional government.

The Deli Serdang Government wants to prevent individual agencies or regions from deciding how CSR funds are used without considering the broader development needs of the regency. Regency-level coordination is expected to prevent overlapping assistance and ensure that companies direct their contributions toward programs with the widest possible impact.

Hendra also reminded regional agencies and subdistrict administrations not to pressure companies into providing assistance for activities that are outside the established priorities. The regional government continues to face numerous development challenges that cannot be fully financed through the Regional Budget (APBD).

Therefore, the Deli Serdang Government is seeking to optimize development funding from the business sector through CSR. The regional government wants these contributions to be incorporated into a targeted development framework rather than being used merely to cover individual activities on a case-by-case basis.

Housing Renovation Program Requires Accurate Data

Particular attention during the discussions was given to the housing renovation program. Hendra called on all parties not to arbitrarily determine the beneficiaries of the assistance, whether companies, subdistrict administrations, villages, or kelurahan administrations.

He urged the relevant authorities to coordinate with the Social Affairs Office to ensure that beneficiary data meets the applicable criteria and corresponds to the population deciles eligible for assistance. This approach is intended to ensure that the CSR-funded housing renovation program reaches people who are genuinely in need of support.

"The CSR housing renovation program is important. However, when a company provides assistance, it must not determine the beneficiaries on its own. It must coordinate with the Social Affairs Office to verify the data and population deciles of those eligible for the assistance," he explained.

According to Hendra, data accuracy is a crucial factor in the success of CSR programs. The regional government must ensure that assistance is not merely distributed, but actually addresses the needs of the intended beneficiaries.

In addition to housing renovations, other forms of assistance must also be incorporated into measurable planning. The regional government requires every proposal to clearly identify the specific need so that the regency team can assess the benefits, location, scope of work, and value of the assistance.

Deli Serdang Updates CSR Data in Detail

To strengthen planning and evaluation, the Deli Serdang Government is calling on all OPD, subdistricts, villages, and kelurahan administrations to complete their CSR data in detail. The data must include the name of the company, type of assistance, location of the activity, scope of work, estimated value of the assistance, and year of implementation.

Hendra underscored the importance of presenting detailed information so that the regional government has an accurate overview of corporate contributions in each area.

"The data must be clear and complete. For example, if it involves the construction of a drainage facility, the data must state its length, estimated value, and location. The same applies to housing renovations and other forms of assistance," he said.

The regional government has also asked the relevant authorities to recheck the implementation year of each assistance program. This is intended to prevent recording errors that could affect the planning and evaluation of CSR programs.

Assistance implemented or handed over by companies in 2026 must be recorded as CSR for 2026. Meanwhile, assistance that was already provided in 2025 must be registered as CSR for 2025.

Recording assistance according to the actual year of implementation is an important part of the data-updating process. With accurate data, the Deli Serdang Government can track the development of business-sector contributions over time while also projecting the need for CSR funding in subsequent years.

Hendra once again stressed that substantial CSR contributions must first be reported to and coordinated with the regency-level coordination team. The regional government wants business contributions to be integrated into Deli Serdang's priority government programs rather than being implemented in isolation.

Stronger coordination also provides the regional government and business sector with an opportunity to develop more effective forms of cooperation. Companies can fulfill their social responsibilities in accordance with community needs, while the regional government can ensure that the assistance contributes to development objectives.

Through data updates and stronger coordination, the Deli Serdang Government hopes that the use of CSR funds in 2026 and 2027 will become more targeted. Cooperation between the regional government and the business sector is expected to maximize the benefits of assistance, strengthen priority programs, accelerate development, and contribute to improving the welfare of the people of Deli Serdang.
