LARGE-SCALE CORN HARVEST: The corn harvest in Muaro Jambi Regency takes place at PT Brahma Binabakti’s plantation, connected to a virtual conference with President Prabowo Subianto.

MUARO JAMBI | INDATANEWS.COM The Government of Muaro Jambi Regency, together with Estate Manager of PT Brahma Binabakti, Timbul Simbolon, carried out a large-scale corn harvest on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at the plantation area of PT Brahma Binabakti (Triputra Agro Persada Group) located in Suko Awin Jaya Village, Sekernan District.

The harvest activity began with a nationwide virtual Zoom conference led directly by the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto. The National Police Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, also joined the event. The program is part of a national initiative aimed at strengthening food security through increased corn production.

Following the virtual launch, participants continued the harvest on-site, collectively picking corn across the fields. A corn shelling machine was also deployed to accelerate post-harvest processing.

Police Leadership Joins Field Activities

The Deputy Chief of the Jambi Regional Police, representing the Chief of Jambi Police, also attended the event and actively participated in the harvest. His presence highlighted the strong collaboration between local government, law enforcement agencies, and the private sector in supporting Indonesia's national food security agenda.

15 Hectares Cultivated with Stable Yield Performance

Estate Manager of PT Brahma Binabakti, Timbul Simbolon, stated that the company cultivates corn on a 15-hectare area with an average yield of around 2 tons per hectare. The entire harvest is directly purchased by the state logistics agency Bulog at government-regulated prices.

"We hope this program can continue sustainably and contribute significantly to Indonesia's development. This is our contribution as part of the private sector in supporting national food sovereignty," said Timbul Simbolon. (IDNC)
