MEDAN | INDATANEWS.COM – Pelindo Multi Terminal, a subsidiary of PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) specializing in non-container terminals, has reported positive performance in livestock handling ahead of the Iduladha 2026 season.
By April 2026, the company recorded a total of 142,496 animals handled across its network, marking a 6.7% increase compared to 133,824 animals in the same period last year.
The growth reflects rising national logistics activity for the distribution of sacrificial livestock across Indonesia, as well as the steady performance of the country's port infrastructure.
Rising Demand in Livestock Logistics Network
Livestock handling operations are carried out across 11 ports managed by Pelindo Multi Terminal. Of these, three ports fall under the administration of Pelabuhan Tanjung Priok, while eight others are operated directly by the SPMT Group.
This integrated port network plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth distribution of livestock nationwide, particularly ahead of major religious holidays.

Tanjung Priok Remains Key Distribution Hub
Pelabuhan Tanjung Priok continues to serve as the main hub within the network, recording the highest volume with 69,893 animals handled. Its strategic position reinforces its importance in supporting national livestock distribution flows ahead of Iduladha.
Logistics Stability and Operational Readiness
SVP Corporate Secretary of Pelindo Multi Terminal, Finan Syaifullah, stated that the increase reflects strong seasonal demand while also demonstrating the resilience of the national supply chain.
"The Pelindo Multi Terminal Group continues to ensure readiness across all ports, including infrastructure, services, and coordination with stakeholders to support the smooth distribution of livestock ahead of Iduladha 2026," he said.
The company also emphasizes animal welfare, safety standards, and operational efficiency in loading and unloading processes to ensure timely and secure distribution to destination regions.
Through continuous optimization of port services, Pelindo Multi Terminal reaffirms its commitment to strengthening national logistics connectivity and ensuring supply stability during major religious holidays. (IDNC)
