MEDAN | INDATANEWS.COM ~ The Faculty of Law at Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara (FH UMSU) held a special Silaturahim and Iftar gathering combined with a Sarasehan on Saturday, March 14, 2026. The event, themed "Digital Learning Strategies to Develop Insan Kamil," took place at Mr Boey's Cafe on Bilal Road, Medan, and brought together university leaders, faculty members, administrative staff, students, and invited guests.
Gratitude and Campus Unity at FH UMSUAssoc. Prof. Dr. Faisal, SH, MHum, Dean of FH UMSU, expressed his gratitude for the smooth running of the event:

The Dean also highlighted the importance of involving families, noting that it reinforced personal bonds within the FH UMSU community; "This demonstrates our commitment to nurturing strong relationships across our academic community," he explained.

During the Sarasehan, Faisal discussed the critical role of digital learning strategies in shaping Insan Kamil—individuals who excel intellectually and morally. Combining technology with character-based education rooted in the Quran, he noted, is key to modern learning."This approach integrates e-learning, interactive applications, and digital skills with spiritual values to develop competent and ethically upright individuals," he said.

Sermon Highlights Social PietyBefore breaking the fast, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zainuddin, SH, MH, Vice Dean I of FH UMSU, delivered a sermon on "The Importance of Social Piety." Using the story of Abu bin Hasyim as an example, he emphasized that personal devotion alone is not sufficient without compassion and active engagement in society; "Personal prayer alone is not enough. Allah also values our social responsibility and charity," he said.
