MEDAN | INDATANEWS.COM – North Sumatra has officially reached a historic milestone after the Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) confirmed the province as the host of the ASEAN U-19 Boys' Championship 2026 (AFF U-19) on May 25, 2026. The decision places North Sumatra in the spotlight of Southeast Asian youth football for the first time, breaking Java's long-standing dominance as Indonesia's primary venue for international tournaments.
Governor Bobby Nasution immediately responded to the announcement by accelerating all preparation processes across relevant regional agencies.
