MEDAN | INDATANEWS.COM – The Regional Executive Board of the Himpunan Pengusaha Korps Alumni Himpunan Mahasiswa Islam (BPW HIPKA HMI) North Sumatra carried out a kurban (sacrificial animal) program under the theme "Sacrificing, Sharing, and Caring for Piety and Goodness in Islam" at the Islamic boarding school Pesantren Usman Syarif, located on Jalan Karya Baru No. 7, Medan Sunggal, on Friday, May 29, 2026.
The activity is part of the Eid al-Adha 1447 H celebrations and also reflects HIPKA HMI North Sumatra's commitment to social responsibility toward the community surrounding the Islamic boarding school.
Strengthening Solidarity Through Eid al-Adha
BPW HIPKA North Sumatra Chairman Anggi Rhaditya Lubis stated that the kurban initiative in Medan serves as an important opportunity to strengthen solidarity within the organization while making a tangible contribution to society.He emphasized that alongside HIPKA's leadership members in North Sumatra, the organization remains committed to promoting religious values and social responsibility within the community.
"We hope this Eid al-Adha kurban brings benefits to the students, the local community around the boarding school, and the broader HIPKA family, while strengthening our sincerity and devotion to Allah SWT," said Anggi R. Lubis, accompanied by HIPKA HMI North Sumatra Secretary General Aja Syahri, Erwinsyah Lubis, OK Dedek, Sayuti, Andi Wiliandi, Ismail Marzuki, and Romi Pasaribu.
Promoting Unity and Community Spirit
Beyond its religious significance, the Qurban initiative also reinforces social bonds between HIPKA North Sumatra members and its executive board. The organization actively promotes mutual assistance through sustainable social programs aimed at strengthening community engagement.In addition, BPW HIPKA HMI North Sumatra views this activity as part of a broader series of humanitarian efforts following recent flood disasters in North Sumatra and Aceh. The initiative is expected to further enhance public awareness and solidarity in times of crisis.
Appreciation from Pesantren Usman Syarif FoundationThe Chairman of the Usman Syarif Islamic Boarding School Foundation, Syafril Agus Dalimunthe, expressed his appreciation for the Qurban program held within the pesantren premises.
