FRANKFURT | INDATANEWS.COM ~ Indonesian citizens (WNI) in Frankfurt, together with the Indonesian Community Association in Frankfurt (Permif), organized a series of events to commemorate Kartini Day.
The celebration was held in conjunction with the Taman Pendidikan Al-Qur'an (TPA) Ceria at the Indonesian Mosque in Frankfurt, Germany, on Sunday (April 26, 2026).Community Spirit at Kartini Day Celebration
The event created a warm and vibrant atmosphere, reflecting strong solidarity within the Indonesian diaspora. One of the highlights was the screening of the film "Habis Gelap Terbitlah Terang", which portrays the life and struggle of Indonesia's national heroine R.A. Kartini.Visitors also enjoyed a kebaya fashion show competition and a mini bazaar featuring Indonesian culinary specialties, which drew enthusiastic participation from attendees. The activities were designed to preserve Kartini's spirit while introducing Indonesian culture to children growing up abroad.

In parallel, TPA Ceria Frankfurt held an educational program under the theme "Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) as My Role Model." Children learned about the personality of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), as well as his exemplary character and Sunnah.
The program continued with creative craft activities aimed at helping children better understand the Prophet's teachings and distinguish between Sunnah and non-Sunnah practices. It concluded with Quran reading sessions tailored to each child's learning level, alongside an introduction to the Quran as divine revelation.
Teaching Challenges and Program Continuity
TPA teacher Sufiati highlighted ongoing challenges in maintaining teaching continuity, particularly due to frequent turnover of instructors."Usually, the teachers are students in Frankfurt. Once they graduate, they return to Indonesia. Then the TPA must recruit new teachers again," Sufiati explained.
She emphasized that this situation requires continuous recruitment efforts to ensure stable and consistent learning activities.International Participation and Positive Response
Around 30 children participated in the event, including Indonesian nationals as well as children from Germany, Turkey, Pakistan, and Egypt. The program is part of a monthly online TPA initiative conducted every Sunday.Organizers hope these activities will strengthen Islamic values and the understanding of monotheism (Tawhid) from an early age. Participants responded enthusiastically, especially the children who actively engaged in all sessions. (IDNC)
