DELI SERDANG | INDATANEWS.COM - The simultaneous village head elections (Pilkades Serentak) in Deli Serdang Regency entered the second wave of 2026 on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, proceeding in a peaceful and orderly manner. The Regional Secretary of Deli Serdang, Dedi Maswardy, personally monitored the voting process in Pasar VI Kualanamu Village, Beringin District, ensuring that the democratic process ran safely and without disruption.

Dedi Maswardy stated that the 2026 second-wave Pilkades is being conducted across 76 villages in 19 districts within Deli Serdang Regency. The regional government is closely overseeing the process to ensure compliance with regulations and to maintain a smooth electoral environment.

"We hope the election will proceed well without any security disturbances or obstacles. This is an important moment for residents to choose a village head who will lead for the next eight years," he said.

Government Emphasizes Village Leadership Role

According to Dedi, newly elected village heads will play a strategic role as development partners for the regional government. They are expected to strengthen community engagement and improve public services at the village level.

He also confirmed that the voting process across all regions remained calm and under control.

"Everything is running smoothly and in good condition so far. We hope this stability continues through the vote counting process," he added.

Call for Peace and Acceptance of Results

The Regional Secretary urged all citizens to maintain peace throughout the electoral process. He emphasized that the Pilkades is a routine democratic mechanism that has traditionally been conducted in an orderly manner in Deli Serdang.

He reminded all candidates and supporters that elections are not solely about winning or losing, but about selecting a trusted leader who serves the community's interests. Therefore, all parties are expected to accept the results gracefully and preserve social unity.

"Ultimately, this election should produce a village head who supports the people, advances regional development, and works together for public welfare," Dedi concluded.

The monitoring activity was also attended by several officials, including the Assistant for Economy and Development Drs. Hendra Wijaya, Head of BKAD Baginda Thomas Harahap SH, Head of Public Works and Spatial Planning Agency Rachmadsyah ST, Camat of Beringin M. Dhani Mulyawan, as well as representatives from security and local administrative units. (IDNC)
