Dankodaeral IV Attends Bakamla West Office Inauguration in Batam

BATAM | INDATANEWS.COM ~ Commander of the IV Regional Naval Command (Dankodaeral IV), Rear Admiral TNI Berkat Widjanarko, S.E., M.Tr.Opsla., attended the official inauguration of the Bakamla West Zone Office. The ceremony was held on Thursday, April 23, 2026, at the Bakamla West Zone Headquarters (Mako Zona Bakamla Barat) in Setoko.

The inauguration marks a significant milestone in strengthening maritime coordination and surveillance efforts across Western Indonesia, particularly in the Riau Islands Province.

The presence of Dankodaeral IV, alongside the Operations Assistant (Asops) and Intelligence Commander (Danden Intel) of Kodaeral IV, reflects the Indonesian Navy's strong commitment to supporting institutional capacity building and inter-agency collaboration.

The initiative aims to ensure the sustainability of maritime security across Indonesia's vast territorial waters through enhanced coordination among relevant stakeholders.

Several high-ranking officials also attended the event, including the Deputy Governor of the Riau Islands, Nyanyang Haris Pratamura, the Mayor of Batam, Amsakar Achmad, and members of the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda).

The inauguration of the Bakamla West Zone Office was officially led by the Head of the Indonesian Maritime Security Agency (Kabakamla RI), Vice Admiral TNI Dr. Irvansyah, S.H., M.Tr.Opsla.

The new facility is expected to improve coordination among maritime institutions and enhance the effectiveness of patrol operations and law enforcement in Indonesia's western maritime region, a strategically important area with high levels of sea traffic.

Synergy for Maritime Border Security

In his remarks, Dankodaeral IV emphasized the importance of strong synergy between the Indonesian Navy (TNI AL), Bakamla, and all maritime stakeholders. According to him, close collaboration is essential to optimize maritime surveillance and effectively respond to potential threats in national waters.
