MEDAN | INDATANEWS.COM ~ Women's rights activists in Indonesia are increasingly targeted by gender-based cyber violence. Courageous women face online threats, harassment, and intimidation simply for standing up for truth and justice.
Cyber violence uses digital platforms to attack women because of their gender. The assaults range from threatening messages and harassment to the spread of false personal information.The Sumut Bersatu Alliance (ASB) organized a public discussion to shed light on this growing issue. ASB emphasized that women activists are often targeted because they are perceived as a threat to existing power structures.

She explained that these attacks are psychologically taxing, damage reputations, and cause social isolation for both herself and her family.

ASB calls on all human rights communities to collaborate in protecting women human rights defenders so they can work safely.
"We must stand together to fight this form of violence," said Veryanto Sitohang, Commissioner of ASB.Activists stress that combating cyber violence requires collective action and genuine support for those brave enough to raise their voices. (IDNC)
