DELI SERDANG | INDATANEWS.COM - The Deli Serdang Regency Government is strengthening its commitment to clean governance by enhancing the integrity and legal compliance of government officials. The move is part of efforts to improve public administration so that the implementation of duties and policies consistently complies with applicable regulations and delivers benefits to the community.
The commitment was reaffirmed during an anti-corruption event for officials within the Deli Serdang Regency Government, held at Graha Bhinneka Perkasa Jaya on Wednesday, September 23, 2026. The Deli Serdang Inspectorate organized the event to strengthen government officials' understanding of the importance of integrity, corruption prevention, and legal compliance in carrying out government duties.The event also featured the signing of an integrity declaration by heads of regional agencies and heads of subdistricts across Deli Serdang. The signing was part of efforts to strengthen officials' commitment to accountable governance while protecting administrative processes from potential violations.
Deli Serdang Regent dr. H. Asri Ludin Tambunan urged all government officials to carry out their duties based on applicable regulations. He emphasized the importance of oversight that begins during the implementation of work and continues through follow-up measures whenever indications of problems are identified.
Asri Ludin also instructed the Inspectorate to strengthen oversight of various activities carried out by regional agencies. In his view, more thorough supervision is necessary so that the regency government can immediately take action when indications of problems emerge in certain activities."I have already instructed the Inspector to thoroughly examine all organizational units and all activities. If indications of problems emerge, we can immediately make decisions and take the necessary follow-up measures," he said.
According to Asri Ludin, strengthening oversight is an important part of ensuring that regency government programs are implemented within the applicable legal framework. Effective supervision allows potential problems to be identified at an early stage, giving the government sufficient room to make corrections and take measures in accordance with regulations.Asri Ludin also reminded heads of regional agencies to strengthen communication and coordination with the Prosecutor's Office in carrying out government duties. He said cooperation with law enforcement authorities could help regional agencies better understand legal aspects related to the implementation of government programs and projects.
Asri Ludin also expressed his appreciation to the Prosecutor's Office for its assistance to the Regional Revenue Agency throughout 2026. The assistance focused on the administration and optimization of revenue from regional taxes.
"I would like to thank our colleagues at the Prosecutor's Office for assisting the Regional Revenue Agency throughout 2026. Thanks to this assistance, outstanding results have been achieved in tax revenue," he said.According to Asri Ludin, institutional assistance and coordination are important components in ensuring that the regency government carries out its responsibilities in accordance with applicable regulations. The Deli Serdang Regency Government also continues to urge regional agencies to prioritize caution, transparency, and accountability in implementing all programs.
This approach is not limited solely to preventing corruption offenses. It also aims to build a working culture among government officials in which legal responsibility for every decision and action within the administration is understood and taken into consideration.
Meanwhile, Head of the Deli Serdang District Prosecutor's Office Branch, Sapta Putra, said integrity is an important foundation for carrying out government duties. In his view, government officials need integrity as the basis for compliant administration and to ensure that every policy decision and government action ultimately benefits the public.
He also explained that the regency government could utilize the Prosecutor's Office's legal instruments to strengthen compliance in carrying out government responsibilities. Such assistance could help regional agencies better understand the legal aspects of their duties while preventing potential problems from emerging at a later stage.He said strengthening integrity must go hand in hand with compliance with applicable regulations. Government officials must not only understand their duties and authorities but also ensure that every administrative process has a clear legal basis and can be properly accounted for.
The anti-corruption event continued with presentations by the Special Anti-Corruption Task Force of the Indonesian National Police Headquarters, Satgasus Tipikor Mabes Polri, represented by Yudi Purnomo, as well as the Head of the Special Crimes Section of the Deli Serdang District Prosecutor's Office, Kasi Pidsus Kejari Deli Serdang. The presentations formed part of training for government officials on preventing and addressing issues related to corruption offenses.Through the event, the Deli Serdang Regency Government seeks to further strengthen officials' understanding that integrity and legal compliance are inseparable components of good governance. The commitment is not intended to stop at the signing of an integrity declaration but is expected to be reflected in day-to-day administrative practices.
The Deli Serdang Regency Government also considers oversight, coordination, and legal compliance to be important components of its efforts to establish clean, transparent, and accountable governance.
