PEMATANGSIANTAR | INDATANEWS.COM - The Indonesian Muslim Student Association (SEMMI) North Sumatra has praised the Chief of Police of Pematangsiantar and his entire team for their success in facilitating the voluntary surrender of all suspects involved in the fatal assault case in the Taman Bunga area. The appreciation was directly conveyed by SEMMI North Sumatra Regional Treasurer, Ananda Ferdianta Sebayang, who emphasized that the police's actions demonstrate strong commitment to law enforcement and the maintenance of public order and security.
Ananda stated that the successful presentation of the suspects before legal authorities is clear evidence of the effectiveness of police work under the leadership of the Pematangsiantar Police Chief. According to him, the firm approach taken by law enforcement has significantly contributed to the strengthening of justice enforcement in the region.
"SEMMI North Sumatra appreciates the determination shown by the Pematangsiantar Police Chief and his team in handling this case. The voluntary surrender of the suspects shows that there is no room for perpetrators to evade legal proceedings. This reflects the success of the police in ensuring legal certainty within society," said Ananda Ferdianta Sebayang.
Ananda further explained that the achievement was also the result of the police chief's firm stance, who had previously issued an ultimatum urging the suspects to surrender. This move, he noted, reflects the courage of law enforcement in upholding justice without discrimination, while simultaneously strengthening public trust in the police institution.
He added that consistent police action is a key factor in maintaining security and public order. Legally grounded firmness can serve as a deterrent effect and provide a stronger sense of safety for the community.
SEMMI North Sumatra also strongly supports the police in thoroughly investigating the Taman Bunga fatal assault case to its root causes. Ananda stressed that the investigation must not stop at the perpetrators alone but should also identify any other parties who may have been involved.
"We support the Pematangsiantar Police Chief in uncovering this case in full detail. If there are other individuals involved as intellectual actors or masterminds, they must also be identified and brought to legal accountability. Law enforcement must be comprehensive to ensure justice for the victims' families and the wider community," he said.
He underlined that a thorough legal process is essential to ensure justice for the victims and to prevent similar incidents in the future. At the same time, he called for professional and transparent investigative procedures at every stage.
The SEMMI North Sumatra Regional Executive Board (PW) expressed hope that the legal process in this case will be carried out professionally, transparently, and fairly. According to Ananda, this is crucial to ensuring legal certainty and strengthening public trust in law enforcement institutions.
SEMMI North Sumatra also stated that it will continue to monitor the law enforcement process critically to ensure that it adheres to principles of justice. This case is expected to serve as a positive example of criminal law enforcement in North Sumatra. (IDNC)
