GOVERNOR LEADS 2026 PANCA SILA CEREMONY: North Sumatra Governor Bobby Nasution leads the Pancasila Day commemoration at Astaka Square, Deli Serdang, emphasizing ASN as role models of Pancasila values.

DELI SERDANG | INDATANEWS.COM North Sumatra Governor Bobby Nasution led the Pancasila Day commemoration ceremony held on Monday (June 1, 2026) at Astaka Square, Jalan Pancing, Deli Serdang. In his address, he emphasized the continued relevance of Pancasila values—not only for Indonesia but also in addressing global challenges.

Bobby underlined that Pancasila serves as a moral foundation and guiding principle for the nation amid rapid global transformation, stressing its importance both nationally and internationally.

"The Pancasila is highly relevant, not only for all Indonesian people but also in today's global situation," Bobby said after the ceremony.

Pancasila Values in a Changing World

During the event, Bobby read a speech delivered by Yudian Wahyudi, Head of the Pancasila Ideology Development Agency (BPIP). The speech highlighted Pancasila Day as a moment of reflection to ensure that its values remain alive in public life.

"Pancasila Day is a moment of reflection to ensure that the spirit of Pancasila continues to burn within every Indonesian," Bobby quoted.

Yudian also stressed that Pancasila has long served as a national guiding star amid change and global turbulence, helping Indonesia maintain unity across more than 17,000 islands and hundreds of ethnic groups.

ASN Called to Be Role Models

Bobby called on all civil servants (Aparatur Sipil Negara/ASN) within the North Sumatra provincial government to become role models in implementing Pancasila values. He emphasized that these principles must be reflected in every public service delivery.

According to him, the consistent application of Pancasila within the bureaucracy not only improves public service quality but also strengthens public trust in government institutions.

Call for Responsible Governance

In the speech delivered by BPIP Head Yudian Wahyudi, Pancasila was also described as a moral anchor amid global uncertainty, including technological disruption and geopolitical tensions.

"I entrust Pancasila to you, ministers and regional leaders. Ensure that every public policy is based on social justice, protects the rights of the most vulnerable citizens, and leaves no one behind. We must continue to fight intolerance and radicalism," the message stated.

The ceremony was attended by Vice Governor Surya, Chairperson of TP PKK North Sumatra Kahiyang Ayu, Acting Regional Secretary Sulaiman Harahap, and representatives from regional organizations (OPD). Members of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), police, civil servants, and students were also present. (IDNC)
