DELI SERDANG | INDATANEWS.COM - A solemn yet warm atmosphere marked the thanksgiving and friendship gathering for the official inauguration of Irawan Candra, S.Kom, as the Village Head (Kepala Desa) of Bandar Labuhan for the 2026–2034 term. The event was held on Saturday, June 28, 2026, at Waterland Tamora and was attended by hundreds of residents from various neighborhoods who offered prayers and moral support for their newly appointed village leader.

From early afternoon, the venue was bustling with activity. Various community groups took part, including religious leaders, prominent public figures, village officials, campaign teams, as well as residents who came together to witness the post-election moment of unity. The event proceeded in an orderly and familial atmosphere, reflecting strong social cohesion despite previous political dynamics.

Thanksgiving Prayer as a Form of Gratitude

The event opened with a communal prayer as an expression of gratitude to Almighty God. The prayer also symbolized hope that the village election process would remain peaceful and produce leadership capable of bringing positive change to Bandar Labuhan.

Following the prayer, a heartfelt moment unfolded as residents welcomed Irawan Candra into their midst. This marked his first official public appearance after being confirmed as the elected village head for the next eight years.

Post-Election Harmony Emphasized

The thanksgiving gathering was not only a celebration but also a crucial moment to strengthen social solidarity within the community. Residents mingled freely, reflecting how political differences had been set aside following the democratic process.

In his address, Irawan Candra, S.Kom expressed deep gratitude for the trust placed in him by the community. He emphasized that his victory was not a personal achievement, but rather a mandate from the entire village population.

"I see this not as a personal victory, but as a great trust from the entire community. I promise to work honestly, fairly, and transparently to build a progressive, religious, and prosperous village," he stated.

He also underlined the importance of unity after the election, stressing that differing political views must now be put aside in order to focus on development.

Infrastructure and Economic Development as Priorities

Improving Public Services

He further pledged to enhance public services to become more efficient, transparent, and accessible in order to build greater public trust in the village administration.

He also emphasized the importance of religious and social activities, stating that a progressive village must be built not only on infrastructure but also on moral and spiritual values.

"A village must be built together. It cannot be done by the village head alone," he added.

Residents Praise Peaceful Election

A resident, Eddy Sirait, praised the smooth and peaceful conduct of the village election, calling it a strong foundation for the new leadership.

"We hope Irawan Candra brings real change and strengthens the community," he said.

Similar expectations were also expressed by other residents, who hope for inclusive leadership without political exclusion.
