The footage captures several animals moving across the roadway while traffic was reportedly minimal at the time of the incident.
The video, originally uploaded by the account @tkpmedan and cited by medan.viva.co.id, was captioned: "A group of monkeys crosses the Indrapura toll road."Animals Spotted at Toll Boundary
Corporate Secretary of PT Hutama Marga Waskita (HMW), Ergy Pramadipta, confirmed the incident. According to him, the event occurred on Sunday morning, May 10, 2026, at the Indrapura interchange area, which serves as the boundary between the Tebing Tinggi–Indrapura section (HMW) and the Indrapura–Kisaran section (HK)."PT Hutama Marga Waskita confirms the sighting of a group of monkeys at the Indrapura interchange, precisely at the boundary of the two toll road sections," Ergy said in a written statement on Monday, May 12, 2026.

Following the sighting, field officers immediately implemented monitoring and safety measures to ensure the security of traffic flow along the toll road.
Ergy added that the company continues to closely monitor wildlife movement in the area. Coordination with relevant authorities is also underway to determine whether the incident was caused by temporary habitat displacement or part of a recurring wildlife movement pattern near the highway.Driver Advisory Issued
To maintain road safety, PT Hutama Marga Waskita has intensified surveillance in the affected section and implemented preventive measures to ensure smooth traffic flow."We have taken safety measures to ensure the comfort and security of road users.
