TENA TO STAGE “TWO DOCTORS”: Teater Nasional Medan announces the production of “Two Doctors” for October 2026 as part of its 64th anniversary.

MEDAN | INDATANEWS.COM ~ Teater Nasional (TeNa) Medan has reaffirmed its commitment to advancing the arts scene in North Sumatra by announcing a major theatrical production titled "Two Doctors" ("Dua Dokter") for 2026. The play is based on a literary work by Indonesian author Idris Pasaribu.

The announcement was delivered by TeNa Medan Chairperson Wan Hidayati during a Halalbihalal gathering on Sunday, April 12, 2026, held at the residence of Junaidi Saal.

Wan Hidayati will direct the production, assisted by Ayub Hanzah Fahreza as assistant director. The premiere is scheduled for October 2026 at Aston Hotel Medan, coinciding with the group's 64th anniversary.

Focus on Nurturing Young Talent

Wan Hidayati emphasized that TeNa's mission goes beyond staging performances, highlighting its dedication to developing emerging talents. Students and university learners with an interest in acting and theater are encouraged to join the group.

"Theater offers tremendous benefits for personal growth and instills discipline in life. We warmly welcome young people to grow and develop with us," she said.

As part of the anniversary celebration, TeNa also plans to organize theater workshops targeting students and academics. These initiatives aim to discover new talents and prepare them for future artistic projects.

Strong Support from Theater Community

Playwright Idris Pasaribu expressed optimism about the preparations for the October performance. The event was also attended by prominent theater figures, including Buyung Bizard, Eko Satrio, Ningsih, Anto Doang, Kunung, Hajrul Sahjaya, and Dijah Lubis.

Their presence reflected strong solidarity within Medan's theater community and collective support for TeNa's initiatives.

64 Years of Artistic Legacy

Through the staging of "Two Doctors," TeNa Medan aims to reaffirm its relevance as a longstanding arts organization. Entering its 64th year, the group continues to blend serious theatrical productions with fresh creative approaches.
