KOSGORO 1957 North Sumatra Launches Social Program, Introduces Free Ambulance Service

MEDAN | INDATANEWS.COM - The Provincial Leadership Council (PDK) of KOSGORO 1957 North Sumatra reaffirmed its commitment to community service by organizing a large-scale social outreach program on Saturday, June 27, 2026. Hundreds of residents and online motorcycle taxi (ojek online) drivers took part in the event, which was held at the North Sumatra Golkar Party DPD Office on Jalan KH Wahid Hasyim, Medan.

Participants began arriving early in the morning to donate blood, receive social assistance, and witness the official launch of KOSGORO 1957 North Sumatra's free ambulance service.

The social initiative formed part of a series of community-oriented programs organized by KOSGORO 1957, one of the founding organizations of the Golkar Party. In addition to the blood donation drive, the organization distributed food packages and financial assistance to underprivileged residents.

The event was attended by PDK KOSGORO 1957 North Sumatra Chairman Viktor Silaen, Acting Chairman Arifin Said Ritonga, Secretary Boy Iskandar Rangkuti, Treasurer Dtk Adil Haberham, Chairwoman of the Social Committee dr. Arichta Maria, M.MKes, along with other members of the organization's executive board.

According to Viktor Silaen, the event reflected the spirit of mutual cooperation that has long served as the foundation and identity of KOSGORO 1957.

"This social initiative represents the core values of KOSGORO—mutual cooperation. It embodies our commitment to dedication, service to the people, and solidarity. We sincerely appreciate the enthusiastic participation of the public in today's blood donation drive," Viktor Silaen said.

He added that the overwhelming public response demonstrated that the spirit of social responsibility remains deeply rooted within the community. The strong participation also reflected the willingness of many people to support humanitarian causes by donating blood.

KOSGORO 1957 North Sumatra reaffirmed its commitment to expanding its engagement with local communities through various social programs that provide tangible public benefits.

Blood Donation Strengthens Humanitarian Commitment

The blood donation campaign became one of the event's main highlights. The organizing committee worked closely with the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) Medan to ensure that all donations were conducted in accordance with established medical standards.

Chairwoman of the KOSGORO 1957 North Sumatra Social Committee, dr. Arichta Maria, M.MKes, said the blood donation drive attracted not only KOSGORO members but also online motorcycle taxi drivers and members of the general public.

She noted that the high number of participants reflected growing public awareness of the importance of blood donation in helping patients in need.

"So far, we have successfully collected nearly 70 bags of blood. We hope these donations will benefit many patients who urgently require blood transfusions," Arichta said.

She explained that more than 100 people had registered to donate blood. After undergoing mandatory health screenings, eligible donors contributed nearly 70 bags of blood.

According to Arichta, the blood donation drive represented a concrete expression of KOSGORO 1957's social responsibility. Besides helping patients in need, the initiative also contributed to strengthening blood supplies at PMI Medan.

As demand for blood continues to increase at healthcare facilities, collaboration between community organizations and PMI remains essential in helping meet those needs.

She expressed hope that similar blood donation programs would be held regularly while encouraging broader community participation in the future.

Free Ambulance Service for the Public

In addition to the blood donation campaign and the distribution of social assistance, KOSGORO 1957 North Sumatra officially introduced a free ambulance service that will be available to the public.

Secretary Boy Iskandar Rangkuti said the organization, through its KJM Peduli program and with support from Kanaya Jaya Mobil, had provided two ambulances free of charge.

He explained that the ambulances would be used both for transporting patients and for funeral transportation services without any cost to the public.

"Just give us a call, and we will be ready to assist, whether for transporting patients or providing funeral transportation services," Boy Rangkuti said.

He emphasized that the free ambulance service is intended to assist residents who require immediate medical transportation or do not have access to such services.

Through the program, KOSGORO 1957 North Sumatra hopes to further strengthen its contribution to the community by providing practical assistance to people facing medical emergencies and families requiring funeral transportation.

KOSGORO 1957 North Sumatra concluded the event by reaffirming its dedication to upholding the values of public service, community engagement, and solidarity.
