MEDAN | INDATANEWS.COM – The Mini Soccer Tournament of the Governor's Cup, part of the Pekan Olahraga Wartawan Sumatera Utara (Porwasu), took place from April 9 to 12, 2026, at the Mini Soccer Field in Pancing, Medan. The event was a major success, bringing together teams from various sectors, including the Pewarta Foto Indonesia (PFI) Medan team, which exhibited tremendous energy and teamwork in every match.
Competitive Atmosphere and Team Spirit
From the very first day, the tournament was marked by intense competition, yet the focus on fair play and team spirit remained central. The cheers of the spectators and the mutual support between the teams created a lively and engaging atmosphere throughout the event.
This tournament was not just a sporting contest but also an opportunity for media organizations, particularly the journalists from Medan, to network and strengthen professional bonds. The PFI Medan team showed great solidarity, both on and off the field.

Support for PFI Medan Team
The participation of the PFI Medan team would not have been possible without the support of several key partners, including MPL, BRI Kanwil Medan, and Rahayu Mini Soccer, whose contributions played a crucial role in organizing the tournament and motivating the team.
Risky Cahyadi, the manager of the PFI Medan team, expressed his gratitude to the supporters, saying, "We would like to sincerely thank MPL, BRI Kanwil Medan, and Rahayu Mini Soccer for their support. This tournament goes beyond the competitive aspect and serves as a valuable opportunity to strengthen our relationships and unity," he stated. He added that events like these help promote team spirit among communities while encouraging a healthy lifestyle through sports.

Looking Ahead: A Potential Annual Tradition?
The Mini Soccer Tournament is already being considered as an event that should be held annually, with the goal of fostering the spirit of sportsmanship and providing a platform for the younger generation and various communities across North Sumatra.
The strong engagement from participants and regional support demonstrates that sports can be a powerful tool to bring people of diverse backgrounds together and promote unity. (IDNC)
