POLICE AND COMMUNITY STRENGTHEN COOPERATION: Nagan Raya Police Chief AKBP Muhamad Taufiq meets religious leaders, community representatives, traditional figures, youth representatives, KPA members and residents of Darul Makmur and Tripa Makmur on Thursday, 5 November 2026.

NAGAN RAYA | INDATANEWS.COM - Nagan Raya Police Chief AKBP Muhamad Taufiq, S.I.K., M.H., has called on all sections of the community to strengthen cooperation with the police to maintain public safety and order. He stressed that creating a safe, peaceful and stable environment requires the active involvement of everyone, not just the police.

He made the appeal during a meeting with religious leaders, community representatives, traditional figures, youth representatives, members of the Aceh Transition Committee (KPA) and residents of Darul Makmur and Tripa Makmur districts, Nagan Raya Regency, on Thursday, 5 November 2026.

The meeting took place in Gunung Kong hamlet, Alue Wakie village, Darul Makmur district. It provided an opportunity for the police to strengthen ties with residents, encourage open communication and address local security concerns through closer cooperation.

Strengthening Police-Community Relations

AKBP Muhamad Taufiq attended alongside Nagan Raya Deputy Police Chief Kompol Rafi Darmawan, S.E., M.Si.; Head of Traffic Police IPTU Mursal, S.I.P., S.Sos.; Head of the Supervision Unit IPTU Satriadi; Head of Public Relations IPDA Ari Arfandi, S.H.; and Darul Makmur Police Chief IPTU Muhammad Izazaya, S.H., M.H.

Several village heads (Keuchik), religious leaders, community representatives, KPA members, youth representatives and residents from both districts also attended.

In his address, Taufiq thanked the participants for their attendance and acknowledged the important role of community leaders in maintaining security and building stronger relations between the police and local residents.

He urged everyone to remain actively involved in maintaining public order in Darul Makmur and Tripa Makmur. Effective communication, he said, would help identify potential security threats early and prevent minor issues from developing into more serious problems.

He also called on community representatives to support the Darul Makmur Police Chief and officers through regular communication, coordination and cooperation.

"We hope residents will not hesitate to share even the smallest piece of information with the police. God willing, Nagan Raya Police and Darul Makmur Police will do their utmost to respond to public complaints and concerns and provide the necessary assistance," Taufiq said.

He added that open communication would help strengthen public confidence and encourage residents to report security concerns and social issues requiring the authorities' attention.

Police Hotline 110 for Reports and Complaints

Deputy Police Chief Kompol Rafi Darmawan also encouraged residents to take responsibility for maintaining a safe and stable community. He emphasised the importance of individual awareness and prompt communication with the authorities whenever potential security disturbances arise.

During the meeting, Rafi introduced the National Police's 110 emergency hotline, which allows members of the public to submit reports, provide information and lodge complaints requiring police assistance.

The service is free of charge and offers residents a direct and accessible channel to request assistance or report incidents that could threaten public safety and order.

The hotline is also intended to speed up the flow of information to police officers, enabling them to respond according to the circumstances and conditions on the ground.

Meanwhile, Darul Makmur Police Chief IPTU Muhammad Izazaya highlighted the importance of legal awareness in everyday community life. He explained that criminal law serves to protect the public from actions that could harm others.

He urged residents to understand and comply with applicable laws, describing legal awareness as an essential foundation for an orderly, safe and respectful society.

Izazaya also advised residents not to leave local problems unresolved and to contact the police promptly whenever an issue requires police intervention.

"Security is not solely the responsibility of the police; it is our shared responsibility. If problems arise or something needs to be reported, residents can contact Darul Makmur Police directly, reach their village's Bhabinkamtibmas (community policing officer), or call the 110 police hotline," he said.

Religious Leaders and KPA Pledge Their Support

Religious leaders and KPA representatives in Nagan Raya also expressed their support for police efforts to maintain security and public order.

Religious leader Tgk. Bukhari T., S.E., welcomed the visit by Taufiq and his delegation, saying such meetings could strengthen relations between the police, religious leaders and the wider community.

He said community figures and residents were ready to support police duties, promote security and order in their respective areas, and play an active role in maintaining peace.

He added that the involvement of religious leaders and other community representatives could foster social harmony and strengthen collective awareness of the importance of peaceful coexistence.

Similar support came from Said Ahmad, Deputy Chairman of the KPA in Nagan Raya. He said the organisation, particularly in Darul Makmur and Tripa Makmur, was prepared to work with the police to maintain security and public order.

He also pledged that the KPA would inform the authorities of any potential threats to public safety, enabling the police to identify problems early and take appropriate action.

The meeting was warmly received by the participants. Taufiq's direct engagement with residents provided an opportunity to strengthen community ties and build greater public trust in the police.

Nagan Raya Police expressed hope that its partnership with religious leaders, community representatives, traditional figures, youth groups, the KPA and residents would continue to grow through regular communication and practical cooperation.

The police emphasised that public participation remained a strategic part of maintaining security, peace and stability in Darul Makmur, Tripa Makmur and across Nagan Raya Regency. (IDNC)
