LABUHANBATU SELATAN | INDATANEWS.COM — The National Zakat Agency (BAZNAS) of Labuhanbatu Selatan Regency has reaffirmed its commitment to healthcare support by providing medical assistance to an elderly resident ahead of the Islamic month of Muharram 1448 Hijriah. The aid was delivered to a senior woman currently receiving home-based care due to her health condition.
Funds derived from Zakat, Infaq, and Sadaqah (ZIS) were handed over to Roslina Br Hasibuan, a resident of Kampung Malim, Kotapinang Village, Kotapinang District, Labuhanbatu Selatan Regency. She is currently undergoing intensive home treatment, supported by her family throughout her recovery process.The initiative is part of BAZNAS Labuhanbatu Selatan's ongoing program to ensure that charitable funds are distributed directly to those most in need. Priority is given to elderly citizens, low-income families, and individuals facing serious health challenges.
Beyond financial assistance, the program also reflects a broader commitment to social solidarity, aiming to ease medical burdens while strengthening community support for vulnerable groups.BAZNAS Chairperson Muhammad Yusuf Hasibuan, S.Fil.I., S.H., emphasized that every distribution of ZIS funds is conducted through a strict verification process.
The case was first reported by the Kotapinang Village Head, Irwan Sentosa Siregar, and later confirmed by Kampung Malim neighborhood leader Iwan Syahputra, who directly observed the resident's condition. Following field verification by the BAZNAS team, the agency promptly approved and delivered the assistance.The month of Muharram 1448 Hijriah is widely regarded as a moment of renewal, empathy, and strengthened social cohesion. In line with this spirit, BAZNAS Labuhanbatu Selatan continues to enhance its community welfare programs, particularly in the health sector.
The organization also extended its appreciation to all donors (Muzaki) whose contributions through Zakat, Infaq, and Sadaqah make such humanitarian programs possible.
