LABUHANBATU SELATAN | INDATANEWS.COM Thousands of residents, together with Regent Fery Syahputra Simatupang, gathered for the Eid al-Adha 1447 Hijriah prayer at the SBBK Field, "Santun Berkata Bijak Berkarya," in Kotapinang on Wednesday morning.

From the early hours, people from various parts of Labuhanbatu Selatan Regency flocked to join the communal Eid prayer, which was held in coordination with the regional government. The event was also attended by Deputy Regent Syahdian Purba Siboro, Regional Secretary M. Reza Pahlevi, and other local government officials.

Eid al-Adha as a Moment of Reflection

In his address, Regent Fery Syahputra Simatupang emphasized that Eid al-Adha serves as an important occasion to strengthen values of sincerity, sacrifice, and devotion to Allah SWT.

He highlighted the story of Prophet Ibrahim AS, Hajar, and Prophet Ismail AS as a foundational example for Muslims, particularly in relation to the Hajj pilgrimage and the practice of qurbani (animal sacrifice).

"Eid al-Adha is a historically significant celebration for humanity. Ibrahim, Hajar, and Ismail have set enduring examples that we continue to follow today, especially through the Hajj pilgrimage and the act of sacrifice," Fery said.

The regent further stressed that Eid al-Adha reminds believers to place obedience to Allah above all else.

"The act of sacrifice teaches us to follow the example of Prophet Ibrahim. It reflects an extraordinary level of devotion, where if Allah wills and it serves faith, one must be willing to dedicate body and soul," he added.

He also urged the public to use Eid al-Adha as an opportunity to strengthen social care, particularly toward those in need.

According to him, the essence of the festival extends beyond spiritual devotion, embracing a strong social dimension through sharing and solidarity within the community.

"Eid al-Adha is not only about worship, but also about social responsibility and sharing with others," he said.

Meanwhile, Deputy Regent Syahdian Purba Siboro joined the Eid prayer alongside residents in Pekan Tolan.

The regional government reported that Eid al-Adha 1447 Hijriah celebrations across Labuhanbatu Selatan proceeded in an orderly, safe, and family-friendly atmosphere. (IDNC)
