ACEH TENGAH | INDATANEWS.COM - Bebesen Police Deputy Chief Ipda Hadi Aris Munandar has urged hundreds of students at SMK Negeri 1 Takengon to stay away from drugs, bullying, brawls and various forms of juvenile delinquency. He also called on students to limit their use of mobile phones and online games so that these activities do not interfere with their schoolwork or other positive pursuits.
Ipda Hadi delivered the appeal on Monday, September 7, 2026, while serving as the inspector of the school assembly during the "Saweu Sikula" program at SMK Negeri 1 Takengon in Bebesen District, Aceh Tengah. Speaking before the students, he encouraged them to develop positive habits and protect themselves from behaviors that could jeopardize their future.According to Ipda Hadi, school is not merely a place to gain knowledge but also an environment where students develop character, hone their abilities and achieve academic and non-academic accomplishments. He therefore urged the students to make the most of their school years and avoid environments and peer groups that could have a negative influence on them.
"Drugs and bullying must be avoided because they can destroy students' futures. Make school a place for learning, developing achievements and building character," Ipda Hadi said in his address.He urged the teenagers not to use violence as a way to resolve problems. Instead, they should communicate and address conflicts appropriately so that disagreements do not escalate into larger confrontations.
Ipda Hadi also warned the students against getting involved in brawls, juvenile delinquency or acts of violence both inside and outside the school environment. He further called on them to maintain proper conduct and show respect when interacting with teachers, while observing all school regulations.He said discipline and mutual respect are important elements in shaping the character of young people. These habits can also help students prepare for the challenges of further education and their future professional lives.
Ipda Hadi expressed hope that the students would use their school environment to further develop their abilities and strive for positive achievements. At the same time, he encouraged them to look out for one another and help create a safe and comfortable atmosphere for the entire school community.
On the occasion, Ipda Hadi also addressed the habit among many students of using mobile phones and spending excessive amounts of time playing online games. He urged the students to manage their time wisely so that digital devices would not occupy an excessive portion of their daily lives.
Ipda Hadi reminded the students that gaming and mobile phone use must not come at the expense of study time. They should also set aside time to help their parents at home and participate in various positive activities at school and in the community.Technology, he said, should benefit students, particularly by supporting the learning process and expanding their knowledge. Therefore, young people must use mobile phones responsibly and avoid allowing them to become their main occupation or consume too much of their time.
Police also called on the students to develop disciplined time-management habits. Good time management would allow them to fulfill their responsibilities as students while also taking part in other meaningful activities.The appeal also covered social media use. Students were urged to exercise caution when communicating in digital spaces and not use social media for insults, bullying, spreading negative content or other activities that could harm themselves or others.
In addition to raising awareness about drugs, bullying and juvenile delinquency, police reminded the students to obey traffic regulations. Hadi urged those who ride motorcycles to pay attention not only to their own safety but also to the safety of other road users.
He particularly warned the teenagers against riding motorcycles fitted with so-called "Brong" exhaust systems. The loud noise produced by such exhausts can disturb the peace and comfort of residents and potentially cause problems within the surrounding community.Police hope the students will become role models for responsible and law-abiding behavior on the road. Such awareness needs to be developed from an early age so that young people understand that safety and compliance with regulations are the responsibility of every road user.
Aceh Tengah Police Chief AKBP Muhamad Taufiq, S.I.K., M.H., through Bebesen Police Chief AKP Dasril, S.A.B., said the "Saweu Sikula" program was part of the police's efforts to strengthen communication with students while carrying out early education and preventive measures.According to AKP Dasril, direct interaction between police and students is important to increase awareness of various issues that could threaten the future of the younger generation. Police duties, he said, are not limited to law enforcement but also include public education and preventive efforts, including among students.
"Students are the next generation. Therefore, they need guidance so they can make the right decisions and are not easily influenced by negative behaviors," AKP Dasril said.He expressed hope that the "Saweu Sikula" program would further strengthen relations among the police, schools and students. Through direct interaction, police can deliver messages concerning public safety and order while encouraging students to contribute to a safe, orderly and peaceful school environment.
The "Saweu Sikula" program at SMK Negeri 1 Takengon began at 7:30 a.m. local time and ended at around 9:00 a.m. The entire event proceeded safely, orderly and smoothly.The presence of police in schools should ideally go beyond simply delivering warnings and appeals. Continuous guidance and education are important measures to help students recognize the risks of drug abuse, violence, bullying, juvenile delinquency and other problems that could jeopardize their future.
