JAKARTA | INDATANEWS.COM - PT XLSMART Telecom Sejahtera Tbk (XLSMART) is expanding its XLSMART Future Ready program as part of efforts to better prepare young people for an increasingly competitive job market. The program focuses not only on skills development and certification but also on providing participants with access to employment opportunities through a recruitment ecosystem involving XLSMART and various partner companies.
By September 2026, as many as 850 young talents had secured employment through the Future Ready ecosystem. XLSMART will continue its talent development and recruitment programs through the end of the year. For 2026, the company is targeting at least 1,000 young talents to gain access to employment opportunities through the program.The recruitment of 850 talents marks an important milestone in the implementation of Future Ready. XLSMART has developed the program as part of its corporate social responsibility initiatives under the "Skill Ready – Career Ready – Future Ready" approach, creating a more integrated pathway for talent development.
Through this approach, participants receive more than training. XLSMART also supports them in obtaining certifications, preparing for entry into the workforce, and gaining a better understanding of industry requirements and recruitment processes within companies.By September 2026, more than 5,700 participants had taken part in various Future Ready training and certification programs. At the same time, the digital learning platform accessible through the XLSMART Future Ready website had recorded more than 50,000 users.
Reza Z. Mirza, Group Head of Corporate Communications & Sustainability at XLSMART, said skills development needs to go hand in hand with access to employment opportunities. He said the success of Future Ready should not be measured solely by the number of participants attending training sessions or obtaining certifications.
"Amid an increasingly competitive job market, training alone is not enough. For us, the success of Future Ready is measured not only by how many young people participate in training or obtain certifications, but also by the extent to which these skills actually lead them to employment. By September, 850 young talents had been hired by XLSMART and partner companies through this program. We aim to increase that figure to 1,000 by the end of 2026," Reza said.Reza explained that XLSMART had developed Future Ready as an ecosystem that connects skills development with career preparation and concrete recruitment opportunities. At the same time, the approach creates room for collaboration among various stakeholders to provide young people with broader access to employment opportunities.
"That is why we have developed Future Ready as an ecosystem. We help participants develop skills that meet industry requirements, prepare them to enter the workforce, and at the same time connect them with the recruitment processes of XLSMART and various partner companies. The broader the collaboration, the more opportunities we can create for young Indonesians," he added.Future Ready develops participants through in-person and online training, Career Days, certification programs, e-learning, and various activities that provide information about career pathways and employment opportunities.
The skills development component covers various fields related to industry requirements and changes in the world of work. These include Digital & IT, Data & AI, Telecom Engineering, Sales & Commercial, as well as Finance & Business.In addition to technical skills, the program also emphasizes complementary capabilities that participants need when entering the professional world. These include communication skills, negotiation skills, career preparation, and other professional competencies.
As a result, Future Ready does not end with the learning process itself. Participants also have opportunities to better understand industry requirements, prepare for recruitment procedures, and expand their professional networks with companies seeking talent with relevant skills.
XLSMART views partnerships as an important foundation for the continued development of Future Ready. The company works with Indonesia's Ministry of Manpower, including through the Balai Besar Pelatihan Vokasi dan Produktivitas Bekasi and the network of participants in vocational training and productivity development programs under BINALAVOTAS.
The company also collaborates with educational institutions, foundations, communities, senior high schools, vocational schools, and industry partners. Partners include Universitas Pakuan, the Women in Business Forum of Universitas Indonesia, the Eka Tjipta Foundation, high schools, local communities, as well as various companies and industry partners.These partnerships are intended to strengthen the connection between education, training, industry requirements, and recruitment processes. Through this approach, the skills acquired by participants are expected to become increasingly aligned with labor market requirements.
By September 2026, the approach had resulted in 850 young talents being hired by XLSMART and partner companies through the Future Ready ecosystem. XLSMART will continue its talent development and recruitment programs through December 2026 in pursuit of its target of providing at least 1,000 young people with access to employment.To further expand the program's reach, XLSMART is also conducting Future Ready Goes to Campus at 10 universities from September through the end of 2026. The activities are expected to reach thousands of participants from diverse educational backgrounds.
The target participants include university students, graduates, job seekers, senior high school and vocational school graduates, as well as participants from the BINALAVOTAS network of Indonesia's Ministry of Manpower.Through Future Ready Goes to Campus, participants receive skills development and career preparation training. They also have opportunities to gain first-hand insight into industry requirements. The activities are also part of efforts to connect young talent with the recruitment ecosystem developed by XLSMART and its partner companies.
XLSMART designed the workshops to strengthen digital literacy while providing practical experience with technologies relevant to the future workforce. Through these experiences, participants are expected to gain a better understanding of practical applications for modern technologies.
The first event was held on August 29, 2026, at SMK Ananda Bekasi, with 180 participants. XLSMART subsequently planned additional events at SMKN 3 Tangerang, SMK Strada Jakarta, SMK Ananda Deltamas Cikarang, SMK Pustek Tangerang Selatan, as well as two workshops at BBPVP Bekasi.In total, the IoT workshop series comprises seven locations or events. One event has already been held, while the remaining six sessions will be conducted as part of efforts to further strengthen technological skills.
Through these various activities, XLSMART aims to develop connectivity not only as a means of communication but also as a tool to empower and support young people. Future Ready is designed to help participants strengthen their skills, prepare for the labor market, and gain access to economic opportunities.XLSMART will continue developing Future Ready through collaboration with government institutions, educational institutions, companies, and communities.
