North Sumatra Prosecutors, ABPEDNAS Sign MoU to Monitor Village Funds

MEDAN | INDATANEWS.COM ~ Prosecutors across North Sumatra (Kejari Se-Sumut) have joined forces with the National Association of Village Representatives (ABPEDNAS) to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at supervising the management of village funds in the region.

The signing ceremony took place on Saturday, February 14, 2026, during the launch of the Jaksa Garda Desa (Jaga Desa) program at the Raja Inal Siregar Hall in the North Sumatra Governor's Office, Jl. Pangeran Diponegoro, Medan.

Prominent Figures Stress Importance of Transparency

The event was attended by Deputy Attorney General for Intelligence of the Republic of Indonesia, Reda Mantovani, North Sumatra Governor Bobby Nasution, and Ministry of Home Affairs administration and public service expert Anwar Harun Damanik.

Also present were Kajati North Sumatra Harli Siregar, directors and senior prosecutors, ABPEDNAS chairpersons, and local government officials.

The MoU underlines Kejari and ABPEDNAS' shared commitment to transparent, targeted, and legally compliant management of village funds.

Jaksa Garda Desa: Human Support for Villages

Reda Mantovani explained that the Jaksa Garda Desa program provides village administrations with the opportunity to report on fund utilization.


"With the Jaga Desa app, the prosecutors will monitor fund management nationwide, acting as both guides and supervisory authorities. This initiative demonstrates concrete collaboration between Kejari and ABPEDNAS to protect village funds," he said.

Governor Bobby Nasution praised the innovation and effective village-level management for accelerating regional development. Anwar Harun Damanik added that the new Village Law (Law No. 3/2024) strengthens villages in terms of regulations, institutions, and budgets.

"This law lays the foundation for independent and democratic villages. We secure three key pillars: clear regulations, strong institutions under the Ministry of Home Affairs, and budget guarantees through the national and local budgets (APBN and APBD)," Damanik explained.

North Sumatra Prosecutors Ready to Support Village Funds

After the ceremony, Head of the North Sumatra High Prosecutor's Office Harli Siregar, reaffirmed that all prosecutors in North Sumatra will actively support the implementation of the MoU and national strategic guidelines to ensure legal protection of village funds.

"The North Sumatra Prosecutor's Office will implement and support national strategies. This is a concrete contribution of the Attorney General's Office to realizing the President's Asta Cita Point 6: national development begins in the village," Harli emphasized. (IDNC)
