BANDA ACEH | INDATANEWS.COM ~ The Commission III of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI), led by Muhammad Rano Alfath, conducted an official working visit to the Aceh Regional Police (Polda Aceh) on Friday, April 10, 2026.
The delegation arrived in the morning at Sultan Iskandar Muda (SIM) Airport in Blang Bintang, Aceh Besar, marking the start of its official agenda in the province.

Upon arrival, the delegation received a formal welcome from Aceh Police Chief Marzuki Ali Basyah, accompanied by senior police officials and the Chief of Banda Aceh Police. Representatives from the Aceh Prosecutor's Office, the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), and other regional institutions were also present, highlighting the strategic importance of the visit.
Strengthening Institutional Coordination
The warm reception underscored strong inter-agency coordination in Aceh, reflecting the importance of the DPR's oversight function in supporting law enforcement reform and governance at the regional level.

Following a brief break at the airport, the delegation proceeded directly to the Polda Aceh headquarters. The main focus of the visit is to monitor and evaluate the implementation challenges of Indonesia's new Criminal Code (KUHP) and Criminal Procedure Code (KUHAP), both set to take effect in 2026.
Commission III aims to assess how the legal reforms are being applied in practice and identify institutional adjustments needed to ensure effective enforcement across regions. (IDNC)
