LABUHANBATU SELATAN | INDATANEWS.COM - A total of 11 inmates, known as WBP (Warga Binaan Pemasyarakatan), at Class III Kotapinang Prison took part in a meeting of the Correctional Observation and Assessment Team (Tim Pengamat Pemasyarakatan/TPP). The meeting focused on discussing and reviewing applications for integration rights. The prison held the meeting as part of an evaluation process to ensure that each application meets both administrative and substantive requirements before being forwarded by the relevant officials to the next stage of the procedure.
The event was held on Monday, August 10, 2026, on Jalan Prof. HM. Yamin in Kotapinang. Chairul Afandi, S.H., Deputy Head of the Guidance Division at Class III Kotapinang Prison, chaired the meeting as head of the TPP.Several structural officials and relevant officers also attended the meeting. The Deputy Head of Security and Order served as the meeting secretary. Deputy Head of Admission and Orientation (Admisi dan Orientasi/AO) Popo Arjuna, S.H., and Head of Administration Makmur Azis, S.H., participated as members of the team.
Staff from the Guidance Division and the Head of the Security Unit (Karupam), who also serves as the inmates' personal supervisor (Wali Pas), were involved in the meeting. Each participating official carried out their respective duties and functions in discussing the 11 WBP whose applications were reviewed during the session.Following the opening session, the meeting continued with an individual review of the 11 WBP whose applications for integration rights had been submitted. The team considered observation results, as well as the progress each inmate had made in guidance and rehabilitation during their period of incarceration.
The TPP members then jointly presented their recommendations, assessments and observations. The team considered various aspects, including the inmates' behavior, their progress during the guidance process, compliance with applicable regulations and fulfillment of the established requirements.A comprehensive review is particularly important because the granting of integration rights does not depend solely on the completeness of administrative documents. The team must also take into account the inmates' circumstances, behavior and development during their participation in guidance and rehabilitation programs at the prison.
By considering these various aspects, the team can assess each application more objectively. The process also helps ensure that the meeting's decisions are based on clear grounds and can be properly accounted for in accordance with applicable regulations.
The TPP meeting plays an important role in examining and verifying applications for integration rights submitted by inmates who, according to the team's assessment, meet both administrative and substantive requirements.
