ARREST OF TWO SUSPECTED DRUG DEALERS: Officers from Polsek Kampung Rakyat uncovered an alleged methamphetamine trafficking operation in Kampung Rakyat District, Labuhanbatu Selatan Regency, on Thursday, July 23, 2026. Acting on information provided by local residents, police arrested two suspects and seized multiple pieces of evidence.

LABUHANBATU SELATAN | INDATANEWS.COM - The Labuhanbatu Selatan Resort Police (Polres) have once again demonstrated their firm commitment to combating illegal drug trafficking. Officers from the Kampung Rakyat Sector Police (Polsek) uncovered an alleged methamphetamine (crystal meth) distribution operation and arrested two suspected dealers while seizing multiple pieces of evidence on Thursday, July 23, 2026, in Kampung Rakyat District, Labuhanbatu Selatan Regency.

The investigation began after police received information from members of the public regarding suspicious activities believed to be linked to illegal drug transactions. Acting swiftly on the reports, officers from Polsek Kampung Rakyat launched an investigation that led to the arrest of two individuals suspected of being involved in a methamphetamine distribution network.

The arrests took place at approximately 4:00 p.m. local time in Dusun II Bulan, Perkebunan Teluk Panji Village, Kampung Rakyat District. The case once again highlights the importance of close cooperation between the community and law enforcement in tackling drug-related crimes while helping protect the younger generation from the dangers of narcotics.

According to Labuhanbatu Selatan Police Chief AKBP Rosef Efendi, S.I.K., M.H., CPHR., Kampung Rakyat Police Chief AKP Muhammad Ilham Lubis, S.H., stated that officers immediately followed up on public reports concerning suspected methamphetamine transactions in the area.

"The information provided by the public was acted upon immediately. Following investigations and surveillance, our team successfully arrested two individuals suspected of involvement in illegal drug trafficking. This achievement reflects the vital role of cooperation between the community and the police in the fight against narcotics," AKP Muhammad Ilham Lubis said.

Investigation Began with Public Information

Following the report, AKP Muhammad Ilham Lubis instructed the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of Polsek Kampung Rakyat, IPDA Apma Aldon Pulungan, S.H., M.H., along with the operational investigation team, to conduct surveillance and gather further intelligence at the reported location.

During the surveillance operation, officers observed a man displaying suspicious behavior. The team immediately moved in and arrested the suspect, identified by the initials ASR, a resident of Pangarungan Village, Torgamba District.

A search of the suspect resulted in the seizure of one transparent plastic packet containing suspected methamphetamine weighing approximately 0.15 grams gross. Police also confiscated an OPPO A5i mobile phone and a black Honda Revo motorcycle believed to have been used in connection with the alleged offense.

During initial questioning, ASR admitted that the drugs had been obtained from a man identified as ARRM, also known as Angga, 27, a resident of Dusun V Sidodadi, Perkebunan Teluk Panji Village, Kampung Rakyat District.

Based on this statement, investigators expanded the operation and shortly afterward located ARRM alias Angga at the reported location.

Additional Evidence Seized

AKP Muhammad Ilham Lubis stated that officers eventually arrested ARRM alias Angga behind a house in Dusun Siderejo, Pangarungan Village, before conducting a search.

During the search, police recovered six transparent plastic packets containing suspected methamphetamine with a combined gross weight of 0.71 grams. Officers also seized Rp110,000 in cash believed to be proceeds from drug transactions, along with an OPPO A5X mobile phone.

Both suspects and all confiscated evidence were taken to Polsek Kampung Rakyat for further investigation. Upon completion of the administrative investigation process, the case will be transferred to the Narcotics Investigation Unit (Satres Narkoba) of the Labuhanbatu Selatan Resort Police for further legal proceedings in accordance with applicable laws.

The Kampung Rakyat Police Chief emphasized that the police would show zero tolerance toward drug abuse and illegal narcotics trafficking within their jurisdiction.

"We will not tolerate drug abuse or illegal narcotics trafficking in Labuhanbatu Selatan. This should also serve as a reminder for parents, schools, and the wider community to pay greater attention to the development and social environment of children and young people. Together, we must protect the younger generation from the dangers of drugs," AKP Muhammad Ilham Lubis stated.

Police Intensify Anti-Drug Campaign

The successful operation once again demonstrates that efforts to combat illegal drug trafficking are most effective when supported by active public participation. Community information frequently serves as the key starting point in uncovering narcotics-related crimes.

Investigators are currently completing case files, questioning witnesses, and examining the respective roles of both suspects to identify any additional members of the alleged drug distribution network operating in the region.

The Labuhanbatu Selatan Resort Police reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening preventive measures and law enforcement against all forms of drug abuse and illegal narcotics trafficking.
