BANDA ACEH | INDATANEWS.COM- The Government of Aceh has reaffirmed its strong commitment to involving the younger generation as a vital component of a sustainable regional development process. This statement was delivered by the Provincial Secretary of Aceh, M. Nasir, during the opening ceremony and inauguration of the Duek Pakat Forum Anak Tanah Rencong (FATAR) 2026, held on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at the Grand Nanggroe Hotel in Banda Aceh.
Nasir emphasized that children should not only be viewed as the future generation, but also as active contributors to the current dynamics of Aceh's regional development. He noted that the Forum Anak Tanah Rencong (FATAR) is not merely an educational space, but a strategic platform where children can discuss, share ideas, and actively contribute to building a better environment.
Children Are Not Only the Future
Nasir stressed that perspectives on children must evolve alongside societal development. He underscored that children's voices and thoughts hold significant value and should not be overlooked in policy-making processes."The voices, ideas, and hopes of children are highly valuable for Aceh's future development. Therefore, the Government of Aceh does not only speak about children's rights, but also listens directly to children themselves," Nasir stated.
This statement reflects the Aceh Government's openness to broader participation of children in development processes, particularly in matters that directly affect their future.

Collaboration in Protecting Children
Nasir further emphasized that the implementation and protection of children's rights is not solely the responsibility of the government, but a shared duty among all elements of society.
He called for strong cross-sector collaboration to create a child-friendly environment, starting from families and extending to schools, communities, the business sector, civil society organizations, and government institutions at all levels.
Through this synergy, the Aceh Government hopes that every child can grow up healthy, gain access to proper education, be protected from all forms of violence, and have equal opportunities for personal development.
Encouraging Future Leaders
In closing his remarks, Nasir encouraged participants to freely express their opinions and ideas within the forum. He expressed hope that the Duek Pakat FATAR would generate strategic recommendations to make Aceh a more child-friendly, progressive, and dignified region."I believe that future leaders of Aceh will emerge from this forum. Some of you may become teachers, doctors, researchers, entrepreneurs, scholars, or even political leaders. Therefore, never think that you are too young to do good and bring about change," Nasir said. (IDNC)
