Deli Serdang Boosts Faith and Healthy School Canteens for Elementary Students

DELI SERDANG | INDATANEWS.COM ~ The Deli Serdang Regency government is promoting students' spiritual and physical well-being through the construction of a mosque and a healthy school canteen at SD Negeri 104240 Wonosari in Tanjung Morawa District. The ceremonial groundbreaking took place on Monday, March 30, 2016.

Groundbreaking Ceremony Led by Regent

Regent Asri Ludin Tambunan laid the first stone for the project after visiting the school in February 2026. He highlighted the importance of proper facilities in creating a comfortable and healthy learning environment.


"Education is not just about grades, but also about developing children's character, attitude, and mental strength from an early age," he stated.

CSR Collaboration with PT Evergreen International Paper

The regency government partnered with PT Evergreen International Paper Tanjung Morawa through a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program to support the construction of the mosque and the healthy school canteen.

General Manager Sucipto, along with representatives from relevant authorities and the Tanjung Morawa district mayor, ensured the project's smooth progress.

Student Engagement and Scholarships

During a quiz session, Regent Asri Ludin and Vice-Regent Lom Lom Suwondo SS interacted with students, encouraging principals and teachers to award scholarships to high-achieving students, particularly those excelling in olympiads or other competitions.

He added that future student assessments would be more comprehensive, not solely based on academic performance. (IDNC)
