Bobby Nasution Covers Surgery Costs for Tumor Patient from Nias Selatan

NIAS SELATAN | INDATANEWS.COM - North Sumatra Governor Bobby Nasution has guaranteed full medical assistance for Padimasi Ziraluo, a resident of Nias Selatan Regency who has been suffering from a malignant tumor on her arm for the past 11 years.

Bobby Nasution instructed the North Sumatra Provincial Health Office to immediately arrange for Padimasi to be transported to Medan so she can undergo surgery. All medical expenses will be covered by the North Sumatra Provincial Government until the entire treatment process is completed.

The governor made the commitment during his working visit to South Nias Regency on Saturday, July 18, 2026. During the visit, he inspected the implementation of the Free Health Check Program (Cek Kesehatan Gratis/CKG), which was held at the Lagundri Community Health Center.

Immediate Medical Assistance for Tumor Patient

At the event location, Bobby Nasution met Padimasi Ziraluo, who had come for a medical examination. After seeing the condition of the patient, who has been living with a malignant tumor for more than a decade, the governor instructed North Sumatra Health Office officials to take immediate action.

"The mother no longer needs to worry about food, costs, or anything else. We will take care of the treatment. The mother only needs to focus on recovery. We will bring her to Medan as soon as possible so the surgery can be carried out," Bobby Nasution said.

Bobby emphasized that the regional government has a responsibility to ensure that residents have access to proper healthcare services, especially those requiring urgent and complex medical treatment.

He instructed his staff to immediately arrange the referral process and all necessary preparations for Padimasi's treatment without delay.

North Sumatra Government Fully Supports Treatment Costs

The North Sumatra Provincial Government confirmed that all of Padimasi Ziraluo's medical needs, from examinations to surgery, will be fully supported. The policy reflects the government's commitment to expanding healthcare access, including for residents living in island areas.

Padimasi expressed her gratitude for the governor's direct attention. She thanked the government for taking responsibility for her treatment expenses and the upcoming operation.

"I am very grateful. Hopefully, I can receive treatment soon. This illness has lasted for 11 years, the tumor continues to grow, and the pain is getting worse," Padimasi said.

She hopes the treatment can begin immediately and that her health condition will improve after years of suffering.

In addition to assisting Padimasi, Bobby Nasution also inspected the medical services provided to two other patients who were treated through the North Sumatra Provincial Government's mobile surgical bus.

Mobile Surgical Buses Expand Healthcare Access

Bobby Nasution explained that the mobile surgical bus program is an important government initiative to improve access to medical services, particularly for residents living far from referral hospitals.

According to the governor, the government plans to increase the number of mobile healthcare units so that more areas across North Sumatra can benefit from these services.

In addition to expanding the vehicle fleet, the government will also strengthen the number of medical personnel supporting healthcare services in the field.

"We will add more buses next year, including additional medical personnel, while continuing to improve the facilities of health centers and regional hospitals," Bobby Nasution said, who attended the event together with the Chairperson of the North Sumatra Family Welfare Team (TP PKK), Kahiyang Ayu.

Bobby hopes that the expansion of mobile healthcare services will provide faster access to medical treatment for residents while the government continues developing healthcare infrastructure at community health centers and regional hospitals.

The program is part of the North Sumatra Provincial Government's efforts to ensure more equitable healthcare services, particularly for communities in island regions such as Nias.

Bobby Conducts Four-Day Working Visit Across Nias Islands

Bobby Nasution's visit to Nias Selatan was part of his four-day government working agenda across the Nias Islands. During his stay, he carried out various government programs while engaging directly with local residents.

After completing his activities in Nias Selatan, Bobby will continue his working visit with meetings with residents of Gunungsitoli City. He is scheduled to return to Medan on Monday, July 20, 2026.

Through the visit, Bobby aims to ensure that government programs are implemented effectively and provide direct benefits to the community. The healthcare sector remains one of the key priorities in delivering public services by the North Sumatra Provincial Government. (IDNC)
