DRUG RAID AT PALM OIL MILL: Torgamba Police conducted a raid at the Sei Daun PKS area in Labuhanbatu Selatan and confiscated suspected drug-related equipment.

LABUHANBATU SELATAN | INDATANEWS.COM - The Torgamba Sector Police (Polsek Torgamba) conducted a raid on Sunday (May 17, 2026) at the Sei Daun Palm Oil Mill (PKS) area in Sei Meranti Village, Torgamba District, Labuhanbatu Selatan Regency. During the operation, officers confiscated several items suspected to be linked to drug abuse activities.

The operation followed a public complaint submitted through the 110 police call center, reporting suspected drug-related activity within the Sei Daun PKS area. Acting on the report, the Torgamba Police Chief immediately ordered an investigative team to the location.

The operation was led by the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit (Kanit Reskrim) of Polsek Torgamba, IPTU Rajo Irawan Hamonangan, S.H., M.H., alongside officers AIPTU PF. Tanjung, AIPTU F. Sinuhaji, AIPDA Rudi Gultom, and BRIPDA Torop M. The raid was also supported by village officials, company security personnel, and local residents.

The initial report was received at around 1:00 p.m. local time via the 110 emergency hotline. By 2:30 p.m., the joint team had arrived at the location together with the head of the PKS Sei Daun settlement area administration.

However, the original informant identified as Irfan was no longer reachable at the scene. Despite this, officers proceeded with a thorough search of the suspected area.

Evidence Collected at the Scene

During the inspection, officers discovered several items believed to be associated with drug use, including two plastic bottles allegedly used as makeshift bongs, four empty transparent plastic sachets, two lighters, and three plastic tubes.

All items were secured and brought to the Torgamba Police Station for further investigation. Although no suspects were found at the location, the findings strengthened suspicions of drug abuse activity within the area.

Authorities emphasized that enhanced routine activities (KRYD) under the "Drug Nest Raid" program will continue to be carried out across the jurisdiction to combat narcotics-related crimes.

The police also urged the public to remain active in reporting any suspicious drug-related activities. Officials stressed that community involvement plays a crucial role in fighting drug abuse.

"Winning the fight against drugs is not solely the responsibility of the police. It requires active public participation. Every piece of information, no matter how small, can help stop the spread of illegal drugs," the police stated.

Community Appreciates Swift Police Action

The head of the Sei Daun PKS settlement administration, Dona Kurniawati, praised the police response.

"We thank the Torgamba Police Chief and his team for their swift action. This shows a strong commitment to protecting the community from drugs," she said.

Meanwhile, RT head Suriatmojo emphasized the importance of collective efforts under the National Drug Prevention and Eradication Program (P4GN).

"P4GN must be a shared movement. Drugs must have no place in the Sei Daun PKS environment. Prevention starts in families and must be strengthened through cooperation with the police," he said. (IDNC)
