LABUHANBATU SELATAN | INDATANEWS.COM – Kampung Rakyat Police have uncovered a drug trafficking case that unsettled residents of Perkebunan Tolan Village, Kampung Rakyat District, Labuhanbatu Selatan Regency. The operation followed a public complaint regarding suspected methamphetamine (locally known as sabu) transactions in a residential area.
Acting on the information, the Criminal Investigation Unit (Unit Reskrim) of Kampung Rakyat Police launched an immediate probe. Officers tracked multiple leads until strong indications of drug activity were confirmed.Residents had previously reported suspicious movements around a house in Dusun Aek Korsik, raising concerns over possible drug distribution activities.

On Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at around 7:00 PM, officers conducted a targeted raid on the suspected location. A 36-year-old man identified by the initials ES was arrested without resistance.
The suspect, a resident of Perkebunan Tolan Village, is believed to have played a key role in local meth distribution. Police suspect the house was used as a distribution hub for narcotics activities.During the search, officers seized 12 plastic packets containing a total of 3.38 grams of methamphetamine. They also confiscated two mobile phones (Vivo and Infinix), IDR 55,000 in cash, 40 empty plastic packets, two pipette spoons, and an electronic scale.
The evidence strongly indicates involvement in drug trafficking activities.

Kampung Rakyat Police Chief AKP Muhammad Ilham Lubis stated that the operation was the result of strong community cooperation."This arrest is the result of collaboration with the public. We urge residents to immediately report any suspicious activity through the 110 hotline or the nearest police station," he said on Sunday (May 3, 2026).
During initial questioning, ES admitted that he obtained the methamphetamine from a man identified by the initials LD, based in Rantau Prapat. This statement has become a key lead for further investigation, suggesting the existence of a wider drug network.Authorities are continuing their efforts to track down the alleged supplier and dismantle the distribution chain.
The suspect and all evidence are currently secured at the Kampung Rakyat Police Station. The case will be forwarded to the Narcotics Investigation Unit (Satuan Reserse Narkoba) of the Labuhanbatu Selatan Police for further legal processing.Officials emphasized that the case highlights the importance of community involvement in combating drug trafficking, which continues to spread into rural areas.
