MEDAN, INDONESIA | INDATANEWS.COM - The Medan City Population and Civil Registration Office (Disdukcapil) has expanded its population administration services by reintroducing electronic ID card (E-KTP) recording and printing directly at district level offices. In the initial phase, the service is now available across seven districts.
Head of Medan Disdukcapil, Baginda P. Siregar, said the initiative aims to make public services more accessible and efficient by reducing the need for residents to visit the central office."The goal is to bring services closer to the community and provide greater convenience. Residents no longer need to travel far and can complete their administrative needs directly in their respective districts," Baginda said on Thursday, May 7, 2026.
Streamlined Administrative ProcessThe service points currently operate in Medan Belawan, Medan Deli, Medan Labuhan, Medan Tuntungan, Medan Johor, Medan Marelan, and Medan Denai.
At these locations, residents can access various E-KTP-related services, including first-time registration, replacement of damaged ID cards, and reissuance of unfit documents.The district offices also handle cases of lost ID cards, allowing citizens to complete replacement procedures locally.
"Lost KTP replacements are also processed directly at the district service points and issued on-site," Baginda added.Adequate Blank Stock and Future Expansion
Disdukcapil confirmed that the current supply of E-KTP blank cards is sufficient, ensuring uninterrupted service for residents."God willing, the availability of blanks is secure and sufficient," Baginda stated.
