HANDS OVER HOUSE KEYS: Deli Serdang Regent Asri Ludin Tambunan hands over house keys and land certificates to residents in Hamparan Perak and Labuhan Deli as part of efforts to improve the welfare of low-income families.

DELI SERDANG | INDATANEWS.COMSeveral families in Hamparan Perak and Labuhan Deli districts received a major boost toward a better future after being awarded newly renovated livable homes and land ownership certificates by the Deli Serdang Regency Government.

The assistance was personally handed over by Deli Serdang Regent Asri Ludin Tambunan during a working visit on Friday (June 5, 2026). The initiative is part of the regency government's ongoing efforts to improve residents' quality of life through decent housing and legal certainty over land ownership.

The housing rehabilitation program goes beyond constructing and renovating homes. In collaboration with the Deli Serdang Land Agency (BPN), beneficiaries also receive official land certificates, strengthening both legal protection and the economic value of their assets.

New Hope for Families in Hamparan Perak

The working visit began in Hamparan Perak District, where Regent Asri Ludin Tambunan handed over a house key to Rahmad, a resident of Paya Bakung Village. The handover marked the completion of a house that had previously been classified as uninhabitable.

In addition to receiving a newly renovated home, Rahmad was also awarded a land ownership certificate issued by the National Land Agency. The document provides legal certainty and long-term security for his family.

The handover ceremony was filled with emotion as the once-deteriorated house was transformed into a safe, healthy, and comfortable place to live.

The regent later attended the groundbreaking ceremony for a new home belonging to Kliwon in Tandem Hilir I Village. Kliwon also received land ownership documents as proof of legal ownership of the property.

Through the housing program, the Deli Serdang Government continues its commitment to helping low-income families gain access to decent housing. Officials hope the family will soon enjoy improved living conditions and greater well-being.

Housing and Land Certification Program Strengthens Social Welfare

The housing rehabilitation and land certification initiative is the result of close collaboration between the Deli Serdang Regency Government and the National Land Agency. The program is regarded as an important step toward improving the living standards of underprivileged communities.

According to the regency government, social welfare is not only about providing safe housing but also ensuring legal protection of property ownership. Combining housing assistance with land certification is expected to deliver long-term benefits for residents.

By obtaining official land certificates, homeowners gain legal proof of ownership and stronger protection against potential land disputes in the future.

Asri Ludin Tambunan urged beneficiaries to take good care of their new homes and use them responsibly.

"These livable homes must be properly maintained. Use them as a safe and healthy place for your families. Do not use them as collateral for inappropriate purposes. May this assistance improve your welfare and quality of life," the regent said.

His remarks underscored the government's commitment to ensuring that housing assistance programs contribute to sustainable improvements in residents' living conditions.

Renovated Home of Jumri Surbakti Officially Completed

Following the activities in Hamparan Perak, the regent continued his visit to Telaga Tujuh Village in Labuhan Deli District. There, he handed over the keys to a newly renovated house belonging to Jumri Surbakti along with an official land certificate issued by the National Land Agency.

Jumri Surbakti's house had undergone renovation since April 30, 2026, under the housing rehabilitation program. The project was successfully completed in approximately one month.

The significant improvement in the house's condition serves as tangible evidence of the program's effectiveness. The renovated home is expected to provide greater safety, comfort, and a healthier living environment for the family.

The regent expressed appreciation to all stakeholders, institutions, companies, and community members who contributed to the success of the program.

He emphasized that strong collaboration between government, the private sector, and the community is essential to accelerating regional development and improving public welfare.

With continued support from various partners, the Deli Serdang Regency Government remains optimistic about expanding the housing rehabilitation and land certification program so that more residents can benefit in the future.

After completing the official agenda, the regent performed Friday prayers at the Telaga Tujuh Mosque before concluding the working visit with a luncheon at Warung Apung in Labuhan Deli.
