"When we arrived at the scene, we arrested six people who were inside the house belonging to the suspect identified by the initial E. When we attempted to arrest him, E appeared to panic, ran into the bathroom and then threw something out of the house," AKP Tito said.Officers immediately searched the area around the property to locate the discarded object. Investigators also plan to conduct urine tests and assess the statements provided by those arrested. The process is intended to establish each individual's role, trace the origin of the seized substance and investigate possible links to a wider drug network.Police have not yet released the urine test results or reached any final conclusions concerning the six individuals. Their respective legal status and any possible involvement in drug-related offences remain subject to further investigation.
According to the information released so far, the raided property belongs to E. The ownership of the house and his reported admission that the suspected crystal methamphetamine belonged to him are among the initial details disclosed by police following the operation.
Jambi City Police Chief Police Commissioner Ananto Herlambang said, through AKP Tito Al Hafezt, that police would continue monitoring suspected drug-use locations and conduct similar operations at other sites across the city where the risk of drug abuse was considered high.
The nationwide operation targeting suspected drug dens followed a directive from the Chief of the Indonesian National Police, conveyed on Thursday, 8 October 2026, through the Director of Narcotics Crime at the Criminal Investigation Agency of the Indonesian National Police Headquarters. The directive calls for simultaneous operations by regional police forces across the country over a one-month period. The operation began on Friday, 9 October 2026, with at least two to three raids planned each week.Through these ongoing measures, police aim to strengthen surveillance of locations suspected of being used for narcotics consumption. However, effective efforts to combat drug abuse also depend on public cooperation. Information from local residents can help officers identify suspicious activities more quickly and report them to the appropriate authorities.
AKP Tito praised residents whose information had helped police investigate suspected drug abuse in Pulau Pandan. He said cooperation between the police and the public was an important element in preventing and tackling drug-related crime."We thank the public for providing information. This shows that cooperation between the Indonesian National Police and the community is working well. We urge all residents of Jambi City to report any activities suspected of being linked to drug abuse in their neighbourhood immediately, either by calling the emergency number 110, contacting their local community policing officer (Bhabinkamtibmas), or visiting the nearest police station. We guarantee that the identities of those providing information will be protected," AKP Tito Al Hafezt said.
Police have urged residents to report suspected drug abuse without delay through the 110 emergency number, their local Bhabinkamtibmas officer or the nearest police station. Residents are also encouraged to provide reliable information so that officers can follow up on reports in accordance with the applicable legal procedures.According to Jambi City Police, the raid conducted as part of the operation targeting suspected drug dens proceeded safely and in an orderly manner, without incident.
