MEDAN | INDATANEWS.COM – KAI Bandara has launched an educational safety campaign aimed at improving railway security in North Sumatra's operational area. The initiative was carried out along the Medan Station (MDN)–Binjai Station (BIJ) route as part of the company's ongoing efforts to enhance safety and order along railway lines.
The activity took place on May 25, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM, covering Kilometer 18+000 to Kilometer 19+400 along Jalan Ikan Kakap, Tanah Tinggi, Binjai Timur District. Personnel from KAI Bandara Medan and the Railway Security Police (Polsuska) of Divre I North Sumatra were deployed on-site to engage directly with residents and provide public education.Safety Awareness Along Railway Line
As part of the campaign, the team installed safety banners at strategic points along the railway corridor. Residents were also given direct briefings on the importance of maintaining railway safety and avoiding activities that could endanger train operations.Officials strongly emphasized that throwing objects at passing trains is strictly prohibited. The public was also urged to exercise extra caution at railway crossings to prevent accidents and operational disruptions.

Beyond on-site outreach, residents were encouraged to actively contribute to maintaining safety around railway areas. KAI Bandara stressed that railway safety is not solely the responsibility of the operator, but a shared duty involving the entire community.

Ongoing Safety and Passenger Services
KAI Bandara confirmed that similar educational campaigns will continue to be conducted regularly to ensure a safe and controlled operational environment. The entire activity was carried out in an orderly and safe manner without any incidents.
The company also reminded passengers to always monitor their belongings during travel. A Lost and Found service is available for any lost or recovered items.Passengers are further advised to arrive at the airport on time—three hours before international flights and two hours before domestic departures.
