DELI SERDANG | INDATANEWS.COM - Two areas in Deli Serdang Regency, namely Bangun Sari Village in Tanjung Morawa District and Galang Kota Urban Village in Galang District, have entered the verification and validation phase of the Kampung Kreatif Sumut Berkah Program for the 2027 fiscal year.
The verification and validation phase began with an opening meeting of the field verification and validation team on Monday, October 5, 2026, in the meeting room on the second floor of the Deli Serdang Regent's Office. The event was attended by Deli Serdang Regent's Assistant for Government Affairs and Public Welfare, Zainal Abidin Hutagalung, representing the Regent of Deli Serdang.The program is part of efforts to develop community potential through creativity, innovation, and the utilization of local resources and knowledge. Therefore, verification and validation are important stages to ensure the readiness of the areas proposed for the program.
The field verification and validation team assessed the readiness, potential, and various innovations developed by communities in Bangun Sari and Galang Kota. In addition to examining conditions and potential directly in the field, the team also reviewed supporting data and documents that would serve as a basis for evaluating the program."We welcome the implementation of this verification and validation process. The team can directly observe the potential and innovations developed by the communities in the two proposed areas," he said.
According to Zainal, the presence of the verification and validation team in the field provides an opportunity to directly observe various potentials developed by the community. At the same time, the process can serve as a forum for obtaining a more comprehensive picture of each area's readiness to participate in the Kampung Kreatif Sumut Berkah Program.He emphasized that the development of creative villages is closely linked to the Deli Serdang Regency Government's efforts to empower communities. Strengthening an economy based on local potential also requires community participation as the main actors so that existing potential can be developed sustainably.
Local potential that is managed creatively can not only strengthen community economic activities but also contribute to developing the character and distinctive strengths of an area, Zainal continued. Therefore, communities must receive adequate support so that innovations that have already emerged can continue to be developed.
Zainal reaffirmed that the Deli Serdang Regency Government is ready to support the development of community potential in areas participating in the program. The support will include promotion, assistance, and collaboration with various stakeholders.
"The Deli Serdang Regency Government is ready to provide support through promotion, assistance, and cross-sectoral collaboration. We hope that the local potential of the community can continue to develop and contribute to the economy and the welfare of the people," he said.In his view, developing creative villages requires a continuous process. The government must not only encourage the emergence of innovations but also ensure that communities receive assistance so that the potential they develop can provide long-term benefits.
Cross-sectoral collaboration is also an important part of this process. The regional government, district administration, village and urban village administrations, communities, and other relevant stakeholders can play roles according to their respective capacities.Through continuous support and assistance, various local potentials are expected to develop into creative economic activities that create added value for communities. This will also support the regional government's efforts to strengthen an economy based on the potential of each area.
The verification and validation process is not merely an administrative step but also provides an opportunity to directly assess the readiness of the proposed areas in the field. The results of the field assessment can later serve as a basis for further developing the program according to the potential and conditions of each area.
Bangun Sari and Galang Kota are two areas proposed by the Deli Serdang Regency Government to participate in the Kampung Kreatif Sumut Berkah Program for the 2027 fiscal year. Both areas have different characteristics and local potential that can be developed through a creative economy approach.The opening meeting of the field verification and validation team was also attended by members of the Kampung Kreatif Sumut Berkah Program verification and validation team, relevant regional agencies, representatives of the district administration, representatives of the proposed villages and urban villages, as well as various other relevant stakeholders.
With the implementation of the verification and validation phase, the Deli Serdang Regency Government hopes that the potential of Bangun Sari and Galang Kota can be comprehensively identified.
