During the visit, the delegation reviewed the ongoing development of Sei Mangkei KEK, which has steadily grown into one of North Sumatra's key industrial zones. The area is widely recognized for its palm oil downstream industry, particularly in the oleochemical sector, which plays a significant role in value-added processing of natural resources.The zone also benefits from its strategic location near Kuala Tanjung Port and its integration with national logistics networks, enhancing supply chain efficiency and strengthening its appeal to global investors.

Sei Mangkei KEK continues to attract growing interest from international investors, including companies from India. The industrial estate is increasingly positioned as a key driver of manufacturing expansion and export-oriented production in the region.
Several Indian companies are already operating within the zone, contributing to stronger bilateral trade relations and deepening economic cooperation between Indonesia and India.Visit to PT Sheel Strengthens Cooperation
As part of the agenda, the delegation also visited PT Sheel, one of the companies operating in the SEZ. The visit highlighted a shared commitment to strengthening industrial collaboration and identifying new areas of partnership between the two countries.The meeting reaffirmed efforts to develop Sei Mangkei KEK into a globally competitive industrial hub with sustainable long-term growth prospects.
