Jambi Nightclub Raid: 22 Visitors Test Positive for AMP and MET

JAMBI | INDATANEWS.COM - Jambi City Police conducted a raid at a nightclub in Jambi in the early hours of Sunday, August 30, 2026. During the operation, the Jambi Police Narcotics Investigation Unit conducted urine tests on 23 people. Tests showed that 22 of them were positive for amphetamine (AMP) and methamphetamine (MET).

Joint personnel from the Jambi Police and Jambi City Police carried out the raid at Grand Club on Jalan Kapten Pattimura, Simpang IV Sipin Urban Village, Kota Baru District, Jambi City. The operation began at around 1 a.m. WIB and was directly led by Jambi Police Chief Kombes Pol Ananto Herlambang.

The raid targeted activities involving nightclub visitors and was part of police efforts to prevent the abuse and trafficking of narcotics. Officers checked several visitors at the venue before conducting urine tests.

Police Test 23 Visitors

Head of the Jambi City Police Narcotics Investigation Unit AKP Tito Al Hafezt, speaking on behalf of Jambi Police Chief Kombes Pol Ananto Herlambang, said officers conducted checks at Grand Club as part of the nightclub raid.

"During this operation, we conducted urine tests on a total of 23 people. The results showed that 22 people tested positive for AMP and MET," he said on Sunday, August 30, 2026.

Of the 23 people who underwent urine testing, only one received a negative result. Police identified the 22 people who tested positive by their initials: RP, MS, S, NC, AS, EP, AS, JA, M, A, MM, H, MAT, A, I, R, A, A, A, VS, F and JZ.

Meanwhile, LW tested negative. Following the examination, police handed LW over to the family. Officers also returned two mobile phones belonging to LW to the family members.

The Jambi City Police subsequently took the 22 people who tested positive into custody for further examination and an in-depth investigation by the Narcotics Investigation Unit. The investigation is intended, in particular, to determine whether and to what extent they were involved in narcotics abuse.

Police Seize Mobile Phones and Vehicles

In addition to conducting urine tests, officers seized several items during the raid. According to police, 22 mobile phones and two four-wheeled vehicles were secured for further examination.

Officers also found suspected narcotics in the form of Marvel-branded ecstasy tablets. One ecstasy tablet was seized from MS, while one-quarter of a tablet was found in JA's possession.

AKP Tito Al Hafezt said the investigation was not based solely on the urine test results. Officers also secured several items considered relevant to further examination of the circumstances identified at the scene.

"In addition to the urine tests, we also secured several pieces of evidence that will undergo further examination and an in-depth investigation," he said.

Police subsequently brought all seized items in for further examination. At the same time, investigators are continuing to trace the origin of the suspected ecstasy tablets and examine any possible connection with the activities of visitors who tested positive.

The urine test results indicating AMP and MET formed one of the bases for the ongoing investigation. However, police said additional examinations are needed to determine the appropriate legal action against each individual.

Raid Aims to Maintain Public Safety

The raid at Grand Club was part of the Jambi City Police's efforts to maintain security and public order, particularly in areas with nightclubs and other entertainment venues. Police consider regular monitoring of such establishments necessary to prevent potential disturbances to public security and order, including narcotics abuse.

The operation involved joint police personnel from the Jambi Police and Jambi City Police. The presence of officers at the nightclub also served as a preventive measure aimed at creating a safe and orderly environment for the public.

The Jambi City Police will continue investigating the 22 people who tested positive for AMP and MET. Investigators are also conducting a deeper examination of the evidence seized during the raid, including the suspected Marvel-branded ecstasy tablets.

Through the operation, police reaffirmed their commitment to monitoring nightclubs and preventing narcotics abuse within the jurisdiction of the Jambi City Police. The results of the ongoing examinations and investigations will determine what legal action will be taken against the individuals identified and the evidence secured during the raid. (IDNC)
